22a017 has arrived and it sees two of London’s most celebrated underground producers enter into album territory.

Comprised of ten cuts ‘Brick City’ takes the listener on a journey through Afro-House, Funk, Rare Groove, Boogie and Broken Beat to name a few. Tunes like ‘Brick City (4am)’ and ‘Butterfly’ groove effortlessly whilst synth leads interject over tasty chords, all the while being supported by solid bass lines – these two will undoubtedly set a strong pace on the dancefloor. ‘Funky Booda’ does exactly what it says on the tin, it’s a straight Funk classic! Its infectious groove and soaring leads are sure to have you clapping your hands and stomping your feet. ‘Be Ur Friend’ is a fiery Afro-House number - reminiscent of one of Tenderlonious's early releases ‘Bob’s Riddim.’ With a slow build, the listener is teased until finally the drums drop and all hell breaks loose – another dancefloor winner! There’s also more hip-hop inspired selections like ‘Brick City (4pm)’ or ‘Pepe’s Walk,’ which bump hard and have strong traces of Sa-Ra and J Dilla influence.

The record comes complete with quirky skits like ‘Bootsy’ and ‘Ferndale Gateaux,’ which blend in and out between the other tunes allowing the record to flow effortlessly from beginning to end.

There is something for everyone on this album. It’s the kind of record you can play at home from start to finish or take out to the club as an essential dancefloor filler. It pays homage to the 22a ethos, it has mass appeal and yet still maintains a high level of quality!

In short this album solidifies the duos ability to make great music with their own signature sound, unique to their world and lifestyle.

Roberto Echo on the remix! The KO-OP producer from Düsseldorf has remixed two songs from UK rap group Summers Sons: "The Feeling" and "Non Semper Erit Aestas". Both remixes come with instrumental edits for the beatheads.

I am very happy that I've been able to work with Alfa Mist on this one. It's the third and last single before my new album "Transit" releases on June 14th and probably my favourite track off of it. We recorded all of it together in Alfa's studio in June 2018 except for the violin outro which I later recorded at my place.

FloFilz' third album for Melting Pot Music is deeply inspired by the UK jazz and hip-hop scene. ''Transit'' features collaborations with Alfa Mist, Barney Artist, Biig Piig and K, Le Maestro.

''Transit'' will be available digital and on LP (limited gatefold edition includes a 20-page photo booklet by Robert Winter).

''Jazz (We've Got)'' was the title of the second single from A Tribe Called Quest's iconic album ''The Low End Theory''. It was released in 1991, the same year FloFilz was born. Similar to Tribe FloFilz resurrects jazz for a new generation. He has been doing this for a while now and is pretty good at it, as you might know if you are familiar with his previous works “Metronom” and ''Cenário''.

In 2019 things have changed. Today jazz is not only about diggin' old records and learning about Bird and Trane. Jazz is very much alive and the city of London has become one of its epicenters. The UK jazz scene is happening because it is deeply connected with hip-hop, soul and club music. A perfect setting for FloFilz. Over the last 18 months, he has collected serious Eurostar miles, heading from Aachen to London - going to gigs, hanging out with musical allies and recording new material.

This is why he calls his new album ''Transit''. Through 18 tracks FloFilz translates the current London vibe in his very own style and fashion and I dare to say that ''Transit'' may be the best album he has treated us with so far.

Jazzbois is a Budapest based jazz/hiphop trio. They have been working together actively in the past years, and after I saw them live on a festival in the middle of a forest - which was the best live shows I have ever seen in my life - I decided to ask them to make a release and luckily they were happy about the idea. I went into their live recording session, we smoked a fat J together and they basically came out with a full album in one night...
