2 - an album by Twit One with 16 songs that draw inspiration and sounds from different paths of life and music. The guest list includes Reginald Omas Mamode IV from London, Kurt Wagner (Lambchop) from Nashville and Cologne-based artists Keshavara and Imam Ally Salaam.
„Objets Trouvés“ is Twit One's third solo album on Melting Pot Music. If we count in his projects with Hulk Hodn (as Testiculo Y Uno), Summers Sons (as Syrup), Lazy Jones (as Flatpocket), Count Bass D and Fleur Earth, we are looking at 10+ LPs (LP stands for longplayer and we emphasize on this because we release every Twit One album on vinyl).

„Opek prefers the cozy retirement life over the hectic leasing lifestyle. The beatproducer, drummer and rapper was born in the Ruhr area in 1990. Not on coal and not on gold, but somewhere where there was a computer and a big brother who explained to him around 2004 how ‘Fruity Loops’ works and what a snare is. And then there was hip hop, this thing that can suddenly fill every spare minute.

After years of drunken freestyles in the park and nights of producing on Windows 98 computers, he moved on (via excursions into guitar music) to jazz. This wondrous music brought Opek to the Netherlands in 2011, where he devoted himself to the art of jazz drumming for 4 years. After that he landed in Dortmund with empty pockets. Eventhough he was filled with doubt, he kept firing up the machines, even the MPC had a bigger purpose than a doorstop or ashtray holder.

Expeditions then took Opek to almost every smoky backstage in Germany and Switzerland, especially as a drummer and producer in the trio ‘Schlakks, Opek & Razzmatazz’. He now shares an office space with ‘Cerm MC’ aka. ‘Cmern’. This is how the joint project ‘Cmern & Opsay’ came into being, where even a serious word about bumpy beats is allowed to fall.

The greyness of the city is and remains the inspiration and drive for Opek to create even more cozy sounds. And so he continues to create hits that could be played in a museum in 400 years, provided that the USB sticks will last.“

South London Jazz Rap group Summers Sons excite with an updated and matured sound on their new album Nostalgia. Brothers Turt (rap) and Slim (production) have created a masterful coming-of-age rap album from a 90s baby perspective. Nostalgia is a classic in the making. Over the course of ten songs, Summers Sons reflect on their past, present and future as sons, brothers, husbands, fathers and friends. Accompanied by longtime friend and musical partner C.Tappin, Alt R&B sensation KeepVibesNear and MC/community activist Eerf Evil.

Since signing with Melting Pot Music in 2018, Summers Sons have released two albums plus various EPs, a beat tape and a collabo project with Twit One as Syrup. They are part of The Silhouettes Project (alongside Enny, Kofi Stone, Bel Cobain, Manic MC, Lex Amor and more) and kicked off their own label Lightworks earlier this year.

Illa J and Atamone are back with Written, a song that probes the artistic process, encouraging us to break through barriers and express our best selves. Yancey explores the question personally, reminiscing on formative experiences with his brother J Dilla and waxing poetically about his own creative process. All of it is delivered with a smokey vocal that melts over a sweet-like caramel guitar riff and a trap groove from the Montréal-based collaborator Atamone, who with Yancey form a prolific production duo. The two are currently deep into studio sessions to take their creativity even further. We can’t wait to hear what they’ll write next.

With SGJAZZ, Dundiff pursues his passion for jazz. SG stands for supergroup. The quintet plays jazz with a hip-hop state of mind. Classically trained jazz musicians – multi-instrumentalist Idris Frederick, Patrick Denney on bass, Anthony Keenan on guitar, Noah Reed on alto and tenor saxophone – are jamming with certified rap cats. SGJAZZ are not a random group of session players but five long-time friends who go way back. Their first album ‘SGJAZZ Vol. 1’ was released on Jakarta Records, for their new project, SGJAZZ have signed with Melting Pot Music. On ‘SGJAZZ Vol. 2’, they are putting their idea of forward thinking and headstrong jazz into action without neglecting the groove.
