Matt Pruitt is a singer-songwriter who currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee. Born and raised in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Northeastern Georgia, Matt was influenced by classic songwriters such as Lennon/McCartney, James Taylor, Jim Croce, Jackson Browne, and Tom Petty. He began performing in clubs around the Atlanta area at the age of 15. 

In 2003, he became the guitar player and backing vocalist for the Island/Def Jam Records rock band Injected. During that time, he toured parts of the country and recorded with the band for their unreleased second album. As a member of Injected, Matt worked and recorded with several industry personalities; most notably writer/producer Butch Walker (P!nk, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban). 

Matt’s songs are reminiscent of classic singer-songwriters, as well as contemporary artists like Dawes, M Ward, and Jason Isbell. His songs are written from a conversational and confessional standpoint, and bear the earmarks of his pop sensibility; marrying catchy song forms and melodies with informed lyrical content.
