Mister Amiss is L.A. based drummer Gavin McDonald's first solo endeavor. A touring musician for some 15 years, the project emerged as of a series of demo tapes. The first tracks were created as a sort of strained love letter, a gesture and proclamation of hope for the recovery of McDonald’s long distance girlfriend after having suffered a devastating car accident. 

Stepping out from behind the drums for the first time, McDonald layers spacey dream pop arrangements rendered against the raw escapism of shoe gaze with intimate, unaffected lyrics. The resulting sound is a somber and transient reflection of the topography of McDonald’s inner life, the displaced sensation of solitary living, and the power of music as remedy. 

His influences include Mazzy Star, Spiritualized, and Radio Department.
