Slumgum in beekeeping is the residue of the beeswax rendering process, it attracts swarms of bees and is used as a fertilizer in ornamental agricultural crops. This mix is for sunday afternoons when the week's work is complete and whatever time we have left to enjoy can be shared with those we love as a way of regenerating our spirits for the new week ahead. A couple years ago I saw SwAy perform their original of this tune live and it stuck with me. It's one of those many times where the instant i heard the song I knew I wanted to remix it. Here is the fruition of that inspiration.

The tribute set I put together for my Thursday afternoon set at The Stump N Stone Stage. First half is a Pumpkin Tribute and the second half is a Jon H Tribute. This was a very challenging project and I am so excited to say that this is the one take, live recording of the set live at Tall Tree. Jon and Nick are two of my biggest influences in DJ'ing, not only for what they do behind turntables/controllers, but the way the present themselves in a daily manner. We miss and love you both so much. And extra props to Qdup, Everyman and Tuck In Tyler for helping facilitate lots of the music used in this mix and for providing vocal recordings that are used in the mix. Put your hearts up for Nick and Jon, you will always live on through your music!

Pumpkin And Jon H Tribute Live At Tall Tree 2016

It's all good all the time with JPOD. The Beat Chef himself is still bouncing back from the loss of his Soundcloud account a couple years back thanks to three copyright strikes on his world-renowned groovalicious remixes. While the Canadian glitch producer and DJ works to regain his flock, the smiles continue to rain down upon fans who catch his high-energy live sets. The fun times are contagious whenever JPOD takes the stage, and we're happy to help put JPOD back in the spotlight.

Today, fans get to hear his bouncy and bubbly Manu Chao remix. JPOD's take on the international superstar's classic “Bongo Bong” is part dubby bopper and part thick bass groove. You can just see the sweat glistening off fans as they bob and weave to this dynamic tune in the dazzling daylight of a summer festival—which certainly speaks to our frozen hearts in the depths of winter.
