For this 74th Premiere of 2021, we have a track by the Electronic music producer based in Rome, Italy "T/Error" (aka Bob Arctor) entitled ‘FutureVision’ from the first release "Rindler Horizon" LP [LDI001] on the Dutch newcomer label : LDI Records.

LDI Records is a Dutch record label specialized in moody, dark and atmospheric electro. The name comes from the abbreviation of Lloyd’s Dark Imperium.
The label was created in 2021 by Erik Griffioen aka Lloyd Stellar with a focus on vinyl (Clone Distribution), but LDI will also be represented in the digital world.

"T/Error - Rindler Horizon" will be available from March 29, 2021 in 12" Vinyl (300 Copies) & Digital.

Dutch Newcomer label, LDI Records mark their first release as experimental electro artist
T/Error steps up with the incredible Rindler Horizon LP. A project focussed on experimentation
and research within electro with releases on the likes of Bass Agenda, Electro Records,
Stilleben and many more, now T/Error dives deep into explorations of present and future
dystopia, digging the through dark depths of human vs. machine behaviour.

The Rindler Horizon is a hypothetical zone over the light speed, where time and space take on
a different meaning than we know. An enigmatic place where any physical exchange of
information beyond the line is impossible, all tracks on Rindler Horizon LP are set there.
Brought to life across 7 tracks spanning brooding, introspective and glitchy electro, other-worldly
ambient and pacey, anxious sounds, Rindler Horizon soundtracks an extra-terrestrial
experience.

Specialising in moody, atmospheric electro, LDI Records (Lloyd’s Dark Imperium) are an
essential label to watch. Distributed worldwide by Clone Distribution, while the Dutch label’s main

Throwing a curveball in the works, Midnight Shift releases an artist they have been in touch with for the past six years. Italy's Nothus (XCPT) introduces his richly textured sonic world via the Xtreme Ratio EP, inspired by India and his field recordings captured during a trip in South Asia - from water sounds deep in the jungle to crowds and temple bells. The result is presented in finely detailed stereo gymnastics with 4D punch.

Crossing from the pure cinematic to dubby bass step and techno breaks, the futuristic meets primal urges like metal on flesh. Wormhole right into the frenetic pace of 'Le Segrete' and its glitched out matrix assault, while 'Sesso Orazio feat. Delikwe' with percussive drum breaks and distorted bird calls cuts a groove from an alternate reality dimension. A world that was once imagined by our ancestors but now lost.

Italian The Villains Inc. moves up a gear with its fourth release to date and already the second in less than a year! Conscious “Time To Go Back EP” introduces the exclusive collaboration between label owner Gab.Gato (Dominance Electricity, Drivecom, SolarOne) and his partner in crime Jack Bags (La Sabbia) from Milan. Together, they drop an untouchable dancefloor oriented five tracker based upon a terrific concept. Coming from the year 2106 with a preventive message to save Earth from manhandled destruction, scientist Dr Boomer understands how much it’s too late to prevent the planet from Armageddon.
A side opens with insane “Man Of The Future”. a pure analogical time machine merging whispers a la Egyptian Lover to heading vocoder sequences over a sharp 808 programming. Luminous and hypnotizing at the same, this oldschool anthem is instantly followed by enthusiastic “No Permission”. A groovy bassline melt with acidic loops turns the song into a masterpiece enhanced by funny vocal scanding “You Have No Permission To Get Into My Head”. Top notch! With its fierce rhythm and relentless beats, title track “Time To Go Back” coming next signs an ode to the glorious days of West Coast electro sound. Vintage sororities fuse into cutting-edge drums while a funky atmosphere will propel you through time and space. Ace!
The flipside goes deeper into the realm serving up what appears as the climax of the EP. Combining gloomy strings to progressive swirls and ethereal chords, well named “Darkness” delivers a scary yet prophetic message from the future that will spread guilty feelings to any listener: “There Will Be No Light, No Hope…”. You have been warned! Last cut “The Bad Place” concludes the 12” on a soulful note regarding the state of our world controlled by government and technology.
Completed by a fantastic comic style artwork, awaken and despair “Time To Go Back EP” offers an outstanding retrofuturist release from which no one will come out unscathed. One of the best outings in The Villains Inc. so far, rush on it!

Solidifying a productive year with dozens of releases, the Droid aka Ben Evans, marks his Woodwork debut with a power packed EP of intriguing electro tracks, delivering monstrous remixes alongside.

Opening with 'paranoia', the Droid's style immediately becomes apparent in its minimalist sonic landscape. Framed in classic 808 rhythms, Evans hits a quirky, abstract nerve with aggressive bass hits and resonant LFO synth tweakery. A solid mix layer, serving as a constant energetic ride.

The title cut, 'rewire the system' offers up the same punchy beat foundation and gets a little deeper, with breaks trading off against four-to-the-floor. The retro flavour of the pads and cosmic flow of various swells, miniature funky bass lines and anguished robo-vocalizations perhaps portray a machine striving toward a more human experience.

Mr. Gentle steps up for the first altered version and gets straight into dramatic sci-fi territory while maintaining the original spaciousness of the Droid approach. He succeeds in taking the beats to an alternate energy level while implementing some ominous breakdowns and infectious acid work to further the plot line of the track.

We are in for a noticeably trippy excursion as Francois Dillinger takes the helm. The 808 feel is drastically withdrawn and chill, with a rolling, funky resolve that perfectly sets up the smoky tapestry of psychedelia over top. The bass and atmospherics are drawn out to an expansive harmonic rhythm somewhere between deeply groovy and completely zoned-out.

The Droid meets Pablo Splice for 'beat the machine'. The two combine opposing aesthetics to craft a unique hybrid contraption from spare parts. The Droid's cycling repetition and minimalist sound design are on lock over his familiar 808 stylings. Pablo Splice counters this with a characteristic, snaky, atonal stab melody underpinned by a complimentary mid-range bass line, with both elements achieving a brash, down-sampled, digital edge.

Lloyd Stellar crafts an impressive thematic rework of 'beat the machine' that features a relentless upbeat swagger - a proper battle workout for the floor. Expanded sonic movement in the bass, twisted harmonic pad variations, tough and punchy blips, urgent vocoder verses, and a massive anthemic section of rave hits, keep this catchy remix moving through exciting revelations from start to finish.

The Droid saves a profound statement for the end with his 'amen experiment'. This unique track recalls a laid back 808 feel, similar to the previous Francois Dilinger workout, but then treats this to subtle ambient chord shifts behind some carefully layered breakbeats. These elements clash and combine wonderfully, ending this EP in an absorbed but lucid mood.
