Basically i've had a couple of cool-ish riffs sitting around and started recording them with the cheapest software and hardware, and very limited knowledge about mixing, recording and editing, very limited as in.....no knowledge at all!

So here we go, the idea behind this "song" was to write a riff in a triplet pattern (12/8), and then program a drum beat that was in a normal 4 beat pattern (4/4). So the opening riff (at 0:18) is the riff i was experimenting with. I wrote it in 12/8, and wanted to put it over a 4/4 beat, but i didn't want to just have it play once with one beat and then again with the other beat, because that's a little too boring. So i ended up writing with all these other riffs just allow me to bring the first riff back with a different beat, but without the transition being too apparent.

I think it worked. It sounds like a totally different riff, but its literally copy/pasted from the beginning hahaha! But the accents are in different spots, which gives it a totally different groove, which is cool because i would've never written the riff like that in the first place. Then i pulled the same trick on the last riff, but backwards, 4/4 to 12/8. And that way the songs starts in triplets and ends in triplets, which makes it kind of logical in very non logical way and that's basically my life in a nutshell.

Yo, this is another weird "song" i came up with.

Basically i bought a new guitar about 2 weeks ago, (Jackson Pro series Juggernaut HT6, if anyone cares) and the night i got it, i came up with a weird chord, messed around with it, recorded it, added layers, drums and within an evening i had most of this done.

I have a skyrim map on my wall right next to where my guitar/amp is set up. so I came up with this weird cold sounding thing.

Someone could probably sing or rap over this.

This song is kinda special because it starts off with the first cool/decent sounding riff i ever came up with, and its also the first thing i ever tried to record. So back in January of this year, i bought a pretty cheap but good audio interface to start recording some stuff, and this is the first thing i tried recording. 

Recorded the first 52 seconds, then moved on. Practiced, recorded other song ideas, lived life and I only came back to it about a month ago. Only because i downloaded this cheap drum programming software, cheap as in free haha. SO i wanted to write some beat under it, and that ended up inspiring the shit out of me.

So the 0:52 mark is where i started working on it again, 6 months later. My playing got a lot cleaner during that time, which is noticeable, but also the tone is completely different, which i didnt really notice. This being my first "real" demo, the mix is complete garbage hahaha! For example, i didnt know i could change the velocity of the drum hits and other now obvious details lol. But the music is kinda good, which i hope over shadows the shitty mix. Anyway, enjoy!
