Dutch edit maestro Pete Blaker debuts on RNT with a pair of extended play summertime heaters! LOVE AND DEVOTION has been a staple in Harvey’s sets this year, and for good reason; it’s quite simply a disco banger of legendary proportions that reaches peak after peak in the course of its nearly 16 glorious minutes. On the flip DISOC takes us on a deep and mystical journey, with pulsing bass, shimmery synth and guitar work, swirling strings building to a climactic vocal hook. Mike Popov is the musician behind the I Gemin project, which was conceived as a way of working disco style and sampling into his house tracks. And the results are brilliantly effective and charming. 'Introfall (Autumn)' makes for a low-slung downtempo start, 'Come Together' brings horn-led disco house fun and 'Black Tea Groove' sinks into a fat-bottomed and dubby rhythm alive with magical synth flourishes. The blissed out 'Summer Breeze' is an escapist charmer, and the flipside features three more exquisite genre studies that have real heart and authenticity.

DJ and producer K Alexi is one of Chicago's true heroes and cited by many as a pioneer the city's sound. At a young age of 12 K was already moving in the right circles befriending worldwide legends like Frankie Knuckles and Ron Hardy whilst frequenting the famous Warehouse.

K's upbringing in Chicago in the 70's and 80's meant he was exposed to a range of genres and different styles of music including Stevie Wonder Prince Curtis Mayfield and David Huff - these same names would prove to be the roots of influence. K's first pressing 'Essence of a Dream' is still regarded a classic today.
