Ghetto Funk & Shindig Weekender 2017 Competition Entry

Powercut is one part of Bristol based DJ/promoter collective Funk From The Trunk, most known for his party rocking DJ sets and break-heavy mixes. Powercut has also been resident at a number of Bristol based club-nights over the years and had played festivals across the UK and Europe.

Powercut’s mixes have spread across the globe like wildfire and 2010 saw him having two mixes on Ninja Tune’s Solid Steel Radio.

Having shared stages with legendary artists including Big Daddy Kane, Marva Whitney, Fat Freddys Drop, J-Rocc, DJ Format, Questlove, Cut Chemist and Necro; he has a diverse arsenal of beats and pieces to rock a crowd alongside some of the world’s finest.

Funk From The Trunk is the Bristol based DJ/promoter outfit specialising in all things funky.

Consisting of 4 DJs: Mr Lingo, Powercut, Ewan Hoozami & Vallee - ‘FFTT’s growing demand has seen them expanding to be much more than just a DJ collective.

Fast forward five years from setting up the infamous brand in London, FFTT moved to the forefront of Bristol's funk-influenced music scene in 2008 and have not looked back. The collective has since showcased some of the world's finest funk acts and supported world class artists.

The 'Four Funkateers' have established themselves as Bristol's most exciting and versatile party-starting crew. Rocking a mash up of anything from straight up funk, beats, boogaloo and hip-hop through to soulful classics and reggae.

FFTT can regularly be found rocking crowds at festivals and events throughout the UK and Europe. Funk From The Trunk are an established and respected name in Bristol music - "guaranteed party-starters!"
