Richard Hawley was inspired to write his song 'The Ocean' after a visit to Porthcurno, in Cornwall. The inspiration for 'Shanti Time' is a bit further round the coast, in Sennen Cove (as you can see in the music video for the song, on YouTube). However, you can tell from the spelling of Shanti that this is not a sea shanty. 'Shanti' is the sanskrit word for 'peace' and the song explores this theme, both musically and lyrically:
"Shanti Time, you're recovering your peace of mind
And discovering a sunshine smile on your face."
