Simon DK - “Float Laboratory” (1994)
After hearing the news of Simons passing and remembering with friends the subject of a certain mixtape came up …we all searched our boxes of cassettes without much luck and some empty cases …however Pete Slotter discovered and found what might well be the only existing copy …and as luck would have it the original tape!
Recorded at Simon DK's flat in Nottingham after the after party on a DiY Bounce night in 1994 after Bath crew John Kesecki & Pete Slotter went back to his and asked him to make a tape, which he did and named it 'Float Laboratory'. 
It's a lovely pitched down mix perfectly capturing those early hours.
It was brought down to Bath - copied and played ALOT!!. It was one of those tapes that just did the rounds and was loved by many…
So it was only right at this time to immortalise it and make it available for you to enjoy again or hear it for the first time...

Heart on my sleeve now, But for me, DiY were always at their best on their second or third night in. this recording lives up to the spirit of this and is just incredible. 6 hours and still going strong. what more can yo ask for. This is the 2nd Mixtape that was made available in early '93 which was part of a set of tapes that were recorded live at the Deepeace/DiY NYE party at the end of '92. The party was in Marshfeild on the outskirts of Bath & If you were one of the thousands there I'm sure you will agree it was one of the most memorable NYE parties I've ever experienced!
This mix is me delving more into the progressive side of house that was about in the free party scene & the slightly harder edged U.S. house, although always coming back to that deeper jazz tinged groove that i loved. 
Re-mastered from original recordings with no gap for a full 90mins of unbroken music for your listening pleasure ...enjoy Mr M x

COEE6 - Class of 88 with Evil Eddie Richards

Diy free-party crew 88’-99’ need  I have to say any more…I’ve matured musically over past 8 yrs which was the last time I listened to any house music in any kind of block listening. It went to head and I burned myself out I guess  to much of a good thing cracked me. 
           So coming out of retirement I now feel re born thx to oxfords simple nights at bullingdon cowley rd oxford. And a gig request at esp jo’burg( due to my spine bak breakages that git cancelled which was the reason I came out of retirement like) so I went to see dj Chloé Robinson @ Simultaneously les production night, Bullingdon arms OX4, and this drive me to drag my cd satchels out and my vinyl cases get sum dexs highjack a 4channel mixer off my dad,(rock&r I’ll dj) and got myself re going everything sat on boxes they came in anything just to get the vinyl’s spinning yeah!!! This was April 23 and my accident was may 23’. 
       so im re learning with better mixing styles and effect-usage, digital sampling ￼￼but at the heart of it all is my luv for DiY the ethos the music the parties being there when it waa all happening getting to know the family well and feelings the losses very deaply when two members left our mortal-coil, god bless Pete and Simon thankyou for all your music and encouragement.
     So I’m experimenting better recording and production softwares that have developed since I last used them… so let’s see what happens ( big thankyou to all the diy family and S4g/DiY disks).
