The sound of electronic instruments getting together while their parents are out and having a good time. (I hope that sick will come out of the carpet).

While the sounds of this raucous crowd was not recorded, if you listen closely you can feel the palpable energy as the lightly audible noise of jubilated dancers come through the stylus. Jammed and hot from an hour in and thick til close, this is audio proof of the way two very perceptive DJs can grab hold and take you to higher places.

Back from a short break with a summer tinged mix by DJ & producer extraordinaire: Youri aka @vroge

You've probably seen it in the irregular videos I share from my own gigs, of crowds vibrating to a joyful melody. A good portion of those moments are soundtracked by music that vrøge has shared with, artists & records he's dug out of dusty record & cd crates, listened to attentively & then edited with the utmost care. His eyes & ears are so perfectly attuned to sonic gems, that cover zouk & so, so, so much more. On top of all this, he's a great producer and DJ in his own right, as you'll discover from this stunning mix.

It's been a real joy getting to know him, esp over the past year from conversations about music, dance floors & all we love about them. He's been at the top of my list of people I've wanted to invite to VIBRATIO)))NS & his take on this 3hr series is guaranteed to be your soundtrack on every beach, lake, field, roadtrip & dance floor.

Here's the mix in his own words:

"Even though I have done this a bunch of times already in my safe space at home I continuously felt an interesting combination of excitement, stress and a mild existential dread while putting the mix together. Maybe because this was the first time doing a 3-hour long mix. In the beginning, I didn’t know how and if I could fill all 3 hours but quite quickly changed into a feeling of not having enough time to share everything I wanted to share in the mix. The idea of the mix was to do what music does to people; unite. 

Music brings people from different places and different backgrounds together. Connections that are made both on and off the dance floor simply through music. I tried to unite a variety of music styles from different places from all over the world. I picked some of my personal favourites that all come with a memory of a connection with someone that I have made myself. Making this a little thankful mix towards that power of music and to all those people that I have made a connection with because of it.
