A talent from an impossibly young age, Chicago producer and DJ Ron Trent began his musical career aged 14, the year he produced the febrile, wild Chicago anthem "Altered States". His production output has barely let up since, minting numerous labels and sublabels to release his and other's music, most notably Prescription Records, which helped define the smoky and jazz-indebted sound of deep house in the 1990s.

This In Focus is a two and a half hour dancefloor session, exploring the sounds of one of Chicago house's most enduring talents. Compiled, mixed and edited by Secretsundaze.

It is not everyday we are sent a 5 hour mix from someone we have asked to join our Phonica mix series; but when Sheffield & Manchester legend Luke Una sends one… you have to jump straight into it! Having become first recognised in the late 80’s and 90’s as one half of production team “The Unabombers” with Justin Crawford, Luke over the years has shown to be a master in all genres be it Balearic, to Brazilian to E soul, House, Disco and Techno, you name it! With his Worldwide FM show over the years gaining a cult following Luke has gained an even more of a broader crowd from his curation of his E Soul Cultura compilation series via the label Mr.Bongo (Both comps topping our EOY lists in 2022 and 2023). This exact vast taste (that is displayed in these compilations) is very much pummelled into this five hour journey of a mix like a piece of clay and sculpted into a fine piece of art. To celebrate the launch of our 2017 line-up, and after 3 years and countless requests we are very pleased to finally release the long-lost recording of one of the most memorable sessions ever heard at the Fort.

On the final night of Dimensions 2014, a huge lightning storm broke out. 
Not knowing how long they'd be able to play, the pair decided to share the decks on the Eglo stage while the weather allowed. What followed was over 5 hours of pure musical joy, an epic journey through disco, funk, house, soul, acid house and everything in between in front of a relentless crowd of very wet dancers.

In 2017 we welcome Grace Jones, Jeff Mills, Theo Parrish, Moderat, Marcel Dettmann, Floating Points, Cymande, Nina Kraviz, Shuggie Otis, Daphni and 200 more to the Croatian shore.
