Too Many Artists - Let's Luvstruck Table Dennis Boom (Mr. Trancetive Mashup)

Belfast born producer and Dj grew up in belfast at the boom of the dance music scene in Northern Ireland. from a very tender age he was already collecting 7" vinyl from dance music icons such as, 2 Unlimited & Eiffel 65. As his music taste was maturing he found himself in the dark side of EDM, The Hardstyle revolution. After various years of listening to this genre of EDM he decided to get into DJing and see what this was all about.

At 14, Dee had owned his 1st set of decks, a pair of soundlab dlp12 belt drives. This had sucked him in to the world of DJing! As the years passed on and his taste in EDM fine tuned itself he had went through many sets of decks, mixers & vinyl to see what set up he preferred best. As always the Technics 1210s MKII's took him by surprise as these where easily the best on the market. By the time Dee was 18 he was out clubbing every week soaking up all the best music belfast had to offer, listening to dj's from all around the world. Still involved in the hardstyle scene, he was starting to part ways with it as the weekly clubbing had opened his eyes to different genres of EDM and as he was about to find out it wasn't just about hard screeches and reverse bass lines that could put the chills down his back!

As he started to broaden his horizons, venture out of belfast and into different clubs and festivals, he started to hear and enjoy a more laid back approach to EDM, which still gave him that tingling sensation in his back opposed to the hardstyle he was into, Dee found house music. This was a whole new beginning for him.

Dee loved this genre so he got on the case soon as and was downloading everyday, he wanted more and more like a addict to trying to feed his habit. As he was soaking up as much House and Tech house as possible, he decided he wanted to get into producing and making his own beats so that he could influence his own passion for house to the world!

Finding ableton live, Dee got to work straight away teaching himself, pushing himself to the limit of his music producing abilities. Every day seemed like another day at school, learning new tricks, creating his own bass, kicks, hats, claps, leads... This was just the beginning of a talented music producer and an upcoming, forward-thinking Dj that always tries to push the boundaries that extra step further!

Mr. Trancetive stands for a dedicated and loyal passion for all kinds of Dance and Trance music and the wonderful feeling it evokes. Making mashups, edits and megamixes is his core business and his sets are packed with creative and surprising blends.

Mr. Trancetive (pronounce like 'transitive') alias Sjoerd Hoevens was born in 1987 in Haarlem, The Netherlands. From a young age he enjoyed music, especially when listening to the radio. Every Friday afternoon he rushed home from school to tune into the Top 40 to hear the greatest hits of the moment. He became a loyal customer at the local music stores and his CD-collection grew fast. He was often asked to play records at school parties and organized some of them at his parents’ home, which he really loved doing. As he had no DJ-gear but only two stereo sets, his mixing technique was a bit unconventional, blending tracks with the volume buttons and harmonic-mixing them by ear. It helped him develop a sensitive feel for smooth and harmonic transitions. Though he loves all kinds of music, his interest then already went out to Dance music. This was the late 90's/early 00’s, with great artists like ATB, Mauro Picotto, Faithless, 4 Strings, Scooter, Sash!, DJ Tiësto, Milk Inc. and Paul van Dyk.

When he heard John O’Callaghan’s tune Big Sky back in 2007, his love for Trance music skyrocketed and has never left. From that moment he tuned in to Armin van Buuren’s radioshow A State of Trance every single week. After visiting Trance Energy and Armin Only Imagine in 2008, Sjoerd decided to use his passion for Trance as a basis for his own creative interpretation of the genre. He bought his first DJ-gear and started mixing. In 2014 he posted his first mixtape on SoundCloud and in 2015 he started the production of mashups and edits. Since then his mashups got supported by Trance artists like Jorn van Deynhoven, Artento Divini, David Broaders, Johnny L, Tomac, Lazarus and many more. His inspiration comes from Trance artists like Armin van Buuren, Andy Tau, Solid Stone, Giuseppe Ottaviani, U-Mount, Farius, Gareth Emery, Ben Gold, Ashley Wallbridge, Sean Mathews, Omnia and many more.

Today he’s more productive and passionate than ever before and determined to share his love for Trance music with the world. Besides his solo project Sjoerd is also one of the hosts of the Dutch radioshow @Time4Trance and hosting Trance Connection on Afterhours.FM together with his UK based friend Nucrise (@rafa-arendz).

My musical journey started back in the late 90's, i was flat out into trance, spinning vinyl and burning up the wheels of steel. I spent my mid to late twenties in London when funky house music was alive and thumping. I got to play at some wicked bars and sweat dripping house parties with some incredible people. Now days, it's spinning tunes across multiple genres. Whilst trance is still right up there, I've spread my wings into progressive trance, tech house, techno, jive / disco / funky / groove / progressive house.  Love a dark dirty solid bass beat ranging between 120bpm through to 145bpm. That's the sweet spot 🤙Now living in New Zealand and always up for a gig with like minded people!
