Hello everyone, and welcome onboard the PFG Progcast, your weekly 1st Class trip around the world of Progressive Beats....

...and BREAKS! Today our journey goes transatlantic as we head into the US, and a Florida based DJ whose focus is all about those broken drums! Continually forging ahead with his unique sound, and with 25 years experience in the game, PFG Give it up.... for Joe Wink! 

As a child his father owned the counties only Vinyl & Cassette store, therefore Joe grew up immersed in music. He was fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time, and that place was Orlando, FL 1992.

His experiences during this time with electronic music and the nightclubs lead way to over 25 years of dedication to the genre of breaks and in particular 'Progressive Breaks'. Inspired by Hybrid, Lostep, Way Out West and Sasha early on helped sculpt his musical taste to involve deep, intelligent and often emotional tunes. 

For the last 7 years his show 'Broken Essence'  has been syndicated internationally on several major stations, and recruits guest mixes from the leading producers and DJs in the genre.  He is a resident DJ on Subcode, the station that airs Broken Essence,  as well as running the 'Progressive Breaks' group on Facebook as a resource to find, share and discuss the genre's best music. When I heard that the Stanton Warriors were going to do a classic breakbeat set I was so excited to dig into my record collection and play some of my favorite tunes from 1995-2005.  This night was amazing on so many levels and I am happy that I was able to record this momentous occasion.  

Pro DJ tip:  It is a faux pas to play the headliners music which is why there were no Stanton Warriors tracks in my mix.

This week's stream was some amazing fun. Lots of homies were tuned in for this one which made for a fun, active chat.  Great energy from everyone who came through, which I tried my best to channel into this session. Started on a deep, rolling liquid summer type vibe for the first hour into some angular tech stuff and a few darker minimal tech rollers after the 1 hour mark before moving back into some easy atmospheric liquid with a touch of airy jungle at the end.

Drifting Through Space

Check out my DJ Set from The Earthdance Synchronized Prayer for Peace 2022 Online Event. This premiered right after the Earthdance Global Synchronized Prayer for Peace on Saturday September 17th. I featured a few songs from artists that have performed at our Earthdance Florida festival in the past ~ an-ten-nae, Govinda Music, The Polish Ambassador. 

Our Earthdance Florida crew had a blast putting together our sets and the production for this past Saturday, Day One, of this event. I know we all couldn't be in person together but I was grateful to still be able to share the love of Earthdance on the very special day of the Prayer For Peace with you all.
