Created during the global lockdown, this new release is a joyful invitation to move our bodies and
dance – something that, alas, has become almost impossible in this pandemic-ridden year.
Quero Ver Você Dançar is a collaboration between Rome-based DJ/producer The Rebel,
Portuguese DJ/producer Dedy Dread, and Brazilian jazz singer Keila Abeid. Other musicians
playing on the track – including Neney Santos (percussions), Marco Ravallese (keys), and Fab
Samperi (flute) – masterly contribute to its soulful favela vibes.
Housed in a single jacket with beautiful artwork by Roman illustrator Federica Fruhwirth, the 12-
inch single also features a super groovy remix by Mo’Horizons which, with its powerful
combination of bossa and drum’n’bass rhythms, makes this release a must for tropical-music
aficionados.
Also available on all major digital outlets, with two additional remixes by young Brazilian
producers Afterclapp and Brasila Strut.

This is the sixth remix single release from Timewarp inc's fourth studio LP album "Theory of Revolution". And this time is brought to you by our good fellow friend Dj, remixer and producer based in Minsk / Belarus mr Lavr Berzhanin a.k.a Dj Laurel.

Dj Laurel here provides a soulful and elegant remix with a fresh mix over the original "I'll Be Ok" song that features those great vocals and lyrics from Georges Perin. The remixer kept most of the original song stems almost intact but he provides a different constant dance-floor groove with electronic baseline and synths and an additional tropical house style fat beat. This can be called a re-edit and a re-mix sitting together in a great sweet pot. An instrumental version of the remixed song is included in the release.

"'I'll Be OK' is the latest aural treat from Timewarp Inc's Theory of Revolution album to get given the remix treatment. In its original album mix form (not included here, sadly), the song is a skanking slab of hazy reggae-soul featuring fine lead vocals from George Perin. This time round, Belarussian producer (and sometime Chopshop artist) DJ Laurel has re-imagined it as a slow-motion slab of attractive nu-disco soul rich in bubbly synthesizer sounds, punchy horns, razor-sharp guitar licks, undulating synth-bass and snappy machine drums. We'd argue that it's best enjoyed in its full vocal mix form (track one), where Laurel gets the most out of Perin's superbly soulful and surprisingly weary singing, though the accompanying instrumental take is also rather good."

MIMS is excited to premiere a remix from our very own resident show host, DJ Tahira from Sao Paulo, Brazil. Tahira puts a rootsier spin on The Fontanas hot take on “Capoeira Mata Um”, featuring Former Banda Black Rio vocalist Aleh Ferreira. Released this Friday via London’s tropical party makers, Movimientos. 

The Fontanas make an explosive return on this fresh rework of the Brazilian classic ‘Capoeira Mata Um’ originally made popular by Jackson de Pandeiro. Producer and bandleader Sam Fontanas gives fresh life to the track, transforming a 1950s Brazilian folk classic into a dance floor banger for modern times. ‘The idea behind the record was to introduce the song to a new audience’ - Bringing with it an injection of electronic fusion, tropical funk, as well as a nod to traditional forro. Former Banda Black Rio vocalist and Samba Soul legend in his own right Aleh (Ferreira) guests on the vocals, referencing the song’s Afro-Brazilian heritage, and fusing the traditional with the modern. 

Tahira says, "“I decided to make it faster.. I'm bringing a blend of forro with a bit of Ijexa. Catia de França used to do this in late 70s. I love the horns .. I've changed them a bit to give the song more of a Latin feel. And I added some keyboards into the track from the excellent musician Fernando TrZ from Liniker and Lavoura".
 
The EP also features another brand new revisioning of a Brazilian classic “Locuras de Uma Paixão” featuring vocals from Sambista Laurie Blundell & Let Drum Beat. And to complete the package there’s 3 exemplary uptempo dancefloor remixes including and rootsier re-wiring from Sao Paulo’s DJ Tahira. Closer to home via London, Tom Excell (Nubiyan Twist, Onipa) brings the fire with his blitzed out Jazz x remix. Completing the stellar line up is Reprezent FM’s Blue Canariñho with his nu wave favela flip mix.
