A much renowned DJ and production figure in trance and progressive circles, Sasha was born in 1969 in North Wales UK. Became famous in the late 80's and early 90's for residencies at clubs like Shelly's, the Hacienda, and most notably Renaissance. At Renaissance, formed a now-famous DJ partnership with John Digweed which continues to the present day.

Hailing from Pittsburgh, and growing up in the fertile period of post punk, industrial and early house and rave sounds, Three has held residencies in Florida, Twilo in New York, and regular spots for Fabric in London and the legendary Wicked parties in San Francisco. Regardless of what people tell you everybody needs a little groove in their life from time to time so for this weeks podcast we secured the services of our go to guy when we’re looking for our house equivalent of our five a day: Martin Landsky. Needing little introduction we’ve long been fans of Martin both as a producer and a DJ. 

Hailing from Hamburg, Martin has been moving crowds for almost three decades, touring the globe and rocking some of the world’s best parties – with everywhere from Berlin to Brooklyn housing his irrepressible talents. Not content with smashing it as both in the DJ booth and the studio he’s also turned his hand distribution and running a label, working for Container Distribution and later for Word And Sound – one of the world’s largest distributers – whilst helming his own label, Effortil Records. Having just reprised his with association with Poker Flat for the release of his new EP 'Da Geh Bo’ (we’ve got the three track effort both in our heads and on our playlists) we thought the time was right for him take the reins on our podcast series. Known for his warm touch whilst on selection duty he brings a qualified range of house, techno and disco and, in short, he's a DJ that is apt at driving our dancefloors whatever room or time we place him in. On his next venture to our corner of the world he's actually doubling up for us, delivering the warm up in Room One while also heading up the tenth anniversary celebrations of the Huddersfield born imprint Hudd Traxx. Ahead of the night and as his own little ode to the label's history, he's put together this exclusive new mix that gets to moving through the depths of the type of house he's set to bring to EC1 on the first weekend in August.

Inner Sanctum

It was a real honour to be invited back to play for the second year in a row for Unlock in Buenos Aires.  The parties at The Hipodromo de Palermo just keep getting better and better. This time the production and sound were next level. 

There is one thing I need to clear up about this session. At first I experienced a significant delay between the system and the monitors which made it nearly impossible to sync the beats in time.  Everyone was helpful and we worked on the fix but it meant that during the first 30 minutes I had to basically throw away the headphones and just try to mix by ear. This is a tricky skill but if you keep cool you can adjust the timing of the tracks until the mix is working but it means you have some mess at the bottom of the mix. I did manage to keep the flow going but as everyone should know by now I am a mix perfectionist so I have re-recorded the start of the session in the studio so you can hear it as it should have been. We fixed the problem and the rest of the session is 100% live from the night. The most important thing is the show must go on and I feel we managed to make a great party, sometimes you just have to deal as best you can with live situations and problems. We sincerely hope this issue didn’t effect your enjoyment of an amazing evening too much.

Fue un verdadero honor que me inviten por segundo año consecutivo a Unlock en Buenos Aires. Las fiestas en el Hipódromo de Palermo se vienen poniendo cada vez mejor. Esta vez, la producción y el sistema de sonido fueron de otro nivel.

Hay algo que necesito aclarar acerca de esta sesión: al comienzo experimenté un delay importante entre el sistema principal y los monitores, lo que hacía casi imposible mezclar y sincronizar los beats a tempo. Todos fueron muy solidarios conmigo y finalmente pudimos resolver el problema pero lamentablemente los primeros 30 minutos tuve que, básicamente, tirar los auriculares y mezclar a oído. Una habilidad un poco difícil ya que vas ajustando el timing de los tracks al aire hasta que el mix está ok, aunque con algunas desprolijidades al principio de cada mezcla. 

Si bien me las arreglé para mantener la onda, muchos saben que soy un perfeccionista de las mezclas así que volví a grabar el principio del set en mi estudio para que lo puedan escuchar como corresponde. Solucionamos el problema y el resto de la sesión es 100% en vivo de esa noche. 

Lo más importante de todo es que el show debe continuar y siento que nos las arreglamos para hacer una fiesta impresionante más allá de que a veces hay que lidiar con situaciones propias del vivo. Espero que este problema no les haya afectado demasiado y que hayan disfrutado de esa noche increíble!

Mr.C started MCing in London clubs aged 16 working with LWR radio's Ron Tom, Jasper the Vinyl Junkie & Jazzy M. Mr.C then hooked up with Colin Faver & Evil Eddie Richards to became resident rapper at the legendary Camden Palace in London. Mr.C went into the studio to record his 1st house track with Eddie Richards as Myster-E which was released in August 1987. This inspired Mr.C to become a DJ so in September 87 he took to the decks. 
Mr.C has since organised, promoted & been resident DJ at: Fantasy ('88), Base (Dungeons '89), Release (91), Harmony (92), Drop (93), Cyclone (94), Vapourspace (94 & 95), Flavour (The End 95 & 96), Subterrain (The End 95 - 2002), Superfreq (Worldwide 2002 - Present), Super Disco Freq (LA 2010 - present), Next Step Forward Festival (Sept 2018). 
Mr.C was resident DJ every weekend (Friday & Saturday nights) at the legendary RIP parties at Clink Street in London throughout 1988.
Mr.C hosted weekly radio show Future Music on Kiss 100FM in London from 1993-2002 & has presented TV shows for MTV, FH1, VIVA & BBC. To say that Mr.C is one of the most iconic DJs in the world would be an understatement.
In December 1995 Mr.C opened the legendary nightclub The End in London & then AKA bar 3 years later & was lauded as one of the best night clubs in the world. The End & AKA closed its doors for good on January 24th 2009. 1 Chapter closes & another begins. Since the closure of The End Mr.C has been running his Superfreq events globally & is just about to host his brand new London festival, Next Step Forward Festival. 
Mr.C runs & promotes Superfreq events, which celebrated being 16 years old in March 2018 & ran monthly at Mr.C's club The End until it closed down in January 2009. Superfreq functions bi-monthly in London & does regular events in Los Angeles as well as bi-monthly events in Calais France & one off events the world over.
Mr.C is founder & owner of Plink Plonk records, co-founder of End Recordings & founder & co-owner of the Superfreq label, which is now releasing music prolifically.
Mr.C has recorded under the names, Myster-E, Unity 2, Nu Jacks, Bass Bureau, The Shamen, Mantrac, Somnambulist, Animus Amour, Killer Loop, Mr.C & Tom Parris, Mr.C & 16B, Sycophant Slags, Indigo Kidz & East LA Tek.
Mr.C is best known as front man, songwriter & producer of the pop group The Shamen with whom he notched up a string of top 10 hits including Move Any Mountain, Love Sex Intelligence, Boss Drum, Phorever People & the UK number 1 smash hit Ebeneezer Goode. These hits were hits the world over. The Shamen album Boss Drum went double platinum in the UK & they also won a highly coveted Ivor Novelo for Songwriters of the year UK in 1993. Richard's currently recording solo as Mr.C & is also doing collaborations as the Indigo Kidz with Affie Yusuf & with Noel Jackson as East LA Tek.
His latest album was released last year called Incidents, which is arguably his best work to date along with singles Stand Up, Shape Your Dreams & Ripple Effect all being taken from the album.
