After a run of storming guest mixes over the last few episodes the quality continues, with an absolute peach of a guest mix from Greg Middleton in hour 2. It’s all over the place in the best possible way, covering an impressive amount of ground in an hour and 7 minutes, yet remaining coherent, engaging and immensely enjoyable to listen to.

'It's quite eclectic, reflecting my borderline nights and online shows, but perhaps a little bit off the beaten track at times, a bit deeper. I've picked a mixture of stuff from hip-hop, breaks, house, disco...some classics, a few newer bits, some edits and mashups....hopefully to keep things interesting for the whole hour 😁'

Cape Town-based, Slow Mo Lounge resident DJ and Head of Design, Ernst Next, has released the 3rd annual 'Festive Disco'.

Effortlessly taking the reins from DJ Kongisto, Ernst Next's new mix is still about delivering the types of sounds you'd come to expect from a good ol' South African Christmas - it's all about playing music that we traditionally love listening to around this time of year. 

Ernst says: '2020 has been an immense year full of trials and tribulations. With this mix, I focused on an overall uplifting sound, but one with a few reminders of what a year it's been. I had a lot of fun making this mix, and I hope you enjoy it'.

Via his residencies in Ibiza and gigs all over the globe @mrdoris is a name which has become synonymous with top class djing. With the club world in permanent lockdown in 2020 he has used the time wisely heading into the studio to create a series of top class party jams which are now starting to pop up across some of the best labels out there. His latest release Rocksteady has just landed via @blackriotrecords and it's everything you would hope for, packed with energy and fierce party vibes also coming with an ace Yam Who? and Mark Brickman remixes. We premiered Marks ace remix last week.

LV Mixtape 186 - Mr Doris [Black Riot]

Mr Doris is something of an anomaly in music. A humbling example of what it takes to truly succeed within the framework of multiple fields. With a steadfast work ethic, an obsessively extensive vinyl library and the willingness to pursue the full extents of his roots (Latin, Soul and Jazz), foundation (Funk/Hip-Hop) and future (Electronic/Dance music) without any restraints.

His unique style has seen Mr Doris tour the globe on a regular basis as well as hold down respected residencies for brands such as Defected, Glitterbox, Magic Door (UK/Croatia), Pacha, Space and his most recent tenure at Hï Ibiza.
Production wise, Mr Doris has worked with reggae legend Sizzla, king of beats Nightmares On Wax, musical maestros Groove Armada and jazz greats The Baker Brothers while his tracks have recently been championed by Red Bull and Seth Troxler in promotional campaigns.

When not in the studio or in the booth, Mr Doris is musical director of After Dark (hosting Space’s famous Sunset Terrace for Carl Cox plus many events around the world), Manumission’s project at Lio Ibiza, The Social London (bringing live funk & soul bands to the nations capital), The Vicar’s Picnic & Back of Beyond festivals and world renowned beach restaurant El Chiringuito (Ibiza, Marbella and Dubai).

Mr Doris is as comfortable playing a chilled Balearic set as he is moving the masses on the dance floor or curating a catwalk. Whatever the venue, clientele or time of day, he can truly adapt his sound to fit the listener.

It is this versatility that sees Mr Doris in constant demand around the world.
