In the early 90s, James Harris (founder and Co-CEO) learned how to play his first instrument in apartment 10 of apartment building "1093" in Eastway Village, located on the Eastside of Youngstown, Ohio. Along with his best friend, Lamar Walker, the two musicians began producing instrumentals, but it never occurred to either of them to start a record label until later on.

Harris, a former music teacher in Pittsburgh, began composing and arranging music for the East High School Marching Band along with Walker before their graduation and closing of the school in 1998 and has since reopened, making them two of the last graduating class of the old East High School.

In August of 2007, Walker, Harris, and younger brother, Jamal Fareed (founder and Co-CEO), were sitting in their living room making instrumentals. The trio decided that they should start a production company, producing instrumentals for artists in the area. The dream of being signed to a major record label came to an end as a new dream began; being the creative minds behind producing quality songs. Fareed was an artist and a musician, but no one, not even himself, knew he had a talent for rapping. Thus, 1093 Entertainment was formed.

Unfortunately, Walker left early on due to unforeseen circumstances, missing out on many ventures since the company's formation. Now, K. Keyz and SJ (Harris and Fareed) handle the operations of 1093 as a duo.

Since then, 1093 has been formed into a team of professional artists, musicians, and producers, and more recently, a secretary, radio show personalities, a videographer, and a manager!

1093 Entertainment, as a whole, has performed in more than 30 shows from Cleveland, OH to Atlanta, GA, having opened for Chevy Woods of Wiz Khalifa's Taylor Gang and being invited to perform in events such as the Sweet Auburn Music Fest and S.U.T. Family Fun Fest! This amazing group of talented individuals are steadily becoming a force to be reckoned with in music and will continue to astonish fans with their complex rhymes, melodic production, insanely hilarious and informative radio talks, and electrifying performances! This is the nation...1093NATION!

Oakley Black, born George Alexander Jefferson III, is a 20 year old artist from Vienna, WV. Writing songs as young as age 12 and moving along with his gift, Oakley got serious about his music when he created a group called "DemJerkBoyZ" in 2010. 

In the last quarter of 2012 due to his first experience with hallucinogens, he has undergone a name change officially changing his alias from "Kidd Kao$' to "Oakley Black". 

He has performed a numerous amount of shows with a variation of artists across West Virginia, Ohio, DC, New Jersey, & more. He has also done collaborations with artists such as Bk Bambino from Chicago, D. Fields from TX, Mr. Man from CA, and more. He plans to expand his fan base on a large scale within the next few years.
