While first listening I was too much focused about their punk driven songs because I just love such sound. Later then I recognized all these very good lyrics. Feeling connected with it. My remix of a track by The O off their legendary unreleased "Nightmerica" album, shelfed by Polydor UK in 1998.

The O was an eclectic 90's group that mixed rap, rock, electronic, and pop in a similar way to contemporaries like Gorillaz, Mindless Self Indulgence (whose boutique label Uppity Cracker released one of the group's only official projects, a 5-song sampler cassette) and Sugar Ray, but in a much more raw, off-the-wall, drug-soaked way.

With more toned-down antics, these fools could have been as big as those contemporaries, but bad luck, drug abuse, and fate kept them from realizing their dreams, even with the backing of majors Polydor in the UK and (supposedly) Interscope stateside.

They existed in those weird years where media could still be lost, even though the online fanbase was basically all that kept this music alive. Today, you'd be lucky to find anything that definitively ties them to their era. It's almost like a reverse-Mandela effect, where something exists that seems too pure to be real.

The group almost seems TOO perfect a time capsule of the early 00's and late 90's, from the misspelled song titles to real-time jokes about Kurt Cobain, grunge and the Columbine shooting. 

With all the revisionist history and nostalgia revolving around this era, it seems fully absurd that this band has not been rediscovered. 

Thanks to a rabid fanbase made up of the same folks who tracked down all The O's music in the early internet days, all their material is available in high quality for the first time, including songs the OG fans have been waiting decades to hear.
