Born and raised on a Chicago’s south side, Boonie has been a poet since she was 11 years old. Additionally, she sang and danced her entire childhood; writing and performing her songs for her family. Transitioned into rap after writing poetry for 15 plus years. Influences are J. Cole, Missy, Kendrick, Tierra Whack, Childish Gambino, etc...

Her old school, Chicago flow stands out almost more then her sultry tone. Although aggressive, she is fluid in her expression ranging from uptempo trap beats to lo-fi tunes.
