Luke Gallen aka Aloysius Gallen is a versatile musician based on the Central Coast of NSW, renowned for his talents on the saxophone, flute, bass clarinet, and as a DJ and music producer. Luke's musical journey began with a focus on jazz, studying at the Australian National University (ANU), where he immersed himself in the rich textures of both mainstream and experimental Black American urban music. His influences are deeply rooted in the jazz of the 60s and 70s, coupled with the inspiration drawn from his seaside environment.

Growing up, Luke honed his skills playing tenor saxophone in Ed Wilson’s junior big bands and was a distinguished member of the DET stage band, which had the honor of performing at the Monterey Jazz Festival. His early experiences laid a strong foundation for his later work in the music scene.

Today, Luke is an active performer and collaborator with a vibrant roster of Central Coast jazz musicians, including Gavin Ahearn, Toby Hall, Aaron Flower, Evan Mannell, Matt Lamb, Ben Hauptmann, and Gerard Masters. His passion for improvised music is evident both in his live performances and his studio work. His recent project, "Space Jazz Nebula," recorded at Habitat Studio, features an all-star lineup and exemplifies his dedication to pushing the boundaries of jazz.
