A Benefit Compilation for Homelessness in Los Angeles County from Pleasure of Love

Pleasure of Love presents a compilation of dance music to raise awareness and benefit the homelessness epidemic in Los Angeles County.  DJs, producers, and musicians from Los Angeles and around the world contributed tracks, hoping to shed light on the issue and provide a little relief over the winter holidays and beyond.

Artists included are Aimes (Wonder Stories), Wild & Free, Club Tularosa, JMMSTR, Ghosts of Venice, Turbotito, FSQ, Peter Croce (Rocksteady Disco), Ladymonix (Frizner Electric), Mojito Boys, Sacre Galaxie, DJ Duckcomb, Air Zaire, Dream Machines, Band of Misfits, Mix & Fairbanks, and Nala (London).

Homelessness in LA County surged over 75% in less than 6 years, as reported by the LA Times back in February, 2018.  Housing shortages, rising rents, and a slow response to help aid the homeless have created a complex and dangerous situation in LA’s notorious skid row and beyond.  In an effort to best utilize the funds we generate from this benefit, we’ll be donating specifically to Downtown Women’s Center in LA.  Per the shelter’s website-

“The Downtown Women’s Center (DWC) is the only organization in Los Angeles focused exclusively on serving and empowering women experiencing homelessness and formerly homeless women.
We envision a Los Angeles with every woman housed and on a path to personal stability. Our mission is to end homelessness for women in greater Los Angeles through housing, wellness, and advocacy.”

About Pleasure of Love-
Pleasure of Love is a weekly disco, house, and international funk flavored party in Hollywood, CA.  On its 2nd year, the party has had guests from around the world play alongside founder Dino Soccio, focusing on underground house and disco in the small basement club Dirty Laundry.  A small cult following led to the launch of a vinyl only imprint in 2018.  The label is currently working on its 4th release slated for January 2019.

Based in the beautiful and vibrant city of Madrid, Spanish DJ and Producer Extraordinaire - Rayko has been a leading light in the clubbing scene around Europe and beyond, since he founded his magnificent Rare Wiri label in 2008 where he has released some of the coolest names out there during all these years like Daniele Baldelli, Man Parrish, Gazeebo, Ilija Rudman, Ichisan, Spirit Catcher, Mushrooms Project, or Eric Duncan among many others

His very unique sound and personality, and incredible work ethic, coupled with  unstoppable creative genius have given Rayko the momentum and consistency to stack up a number of great achievements in his genres, although being such a humble and down to earth guy, he will tell you that he just loves what he does and is perpetually inspired to keep on doing it! 

Deeply rooted in the golden era of the ‘70s and ‘80s, Rayko’s influences are masterfully interpreted and transformed into modern day dancefloor bombs with great vision. Rayko is very proud to have featured on over fifty great vinyl releases, spread across labels such as Eskimo, Is it Balearic?, Whisky Disco, Lumberjacks in Hell, and Editorial, including two studio albums on Nang Recordings, in addition to over two hundred digital releases. Many of these titles have been repeatedly featured in Top 10 sales charts, with some releases making it to the coveted number one position on platforms like Juno Download, Beatport, and Traxsource. His talents as a remixer have been in constant high demand, with invitations from coveted Artists like Psychemagik, Sirs, In Flagranti, Roberto Rodriguez, or Dj Rocca, to name a few, calling upon his exceptional skills.

In his capacity as DJ, Rayko is much loved wherever he goes.
