Piccadilly Records Review: 

"Rayko's Doo Doo" is anything but, riding along a slick electronic disco rhythm (think Class Action "Weekend"), then adding lush strings and the funkiest guitar and clavinet bass lines. Everything grooves along nicely and builds to a great vocal - very pop. I reckon mid 80s Euro disco cut "Do Do I Do" by Double Oh! might be a possible original sourc... Anyway, whatever it is, thsi rework is selling like a very hot cake. Yummy!

Juno Review: 

Rare Wiri boss Rayko holds the Guinness World Record for Soundcloud edits, having retweaked 97 of all disco records released in the period between 1973 and 1981. This alone makes the Madrid based producer a perfect candidate to join the ranks of Cole Medina and Lord Of The Isles on the American Standard imprint - perhaps the only record label named in homage to a urinal company? Rayko's debut on the always classy label is a typically infectious reworking of a disco oddity, replete with the sort of chugging bassline and snapping percussion that teases people onto the dancefloor. It's an ultra limited affair too with only 300 copies pressed up

Massimiliano Pagliara debuts on Ostgut Ton with his new EP, Time And Again.
Born and raised in the deep south of Italy Massimiliano Pagliara made his way to Berlin in 2001, quickly diving headfirst into the German capital’s club scene (particularly Berghain’s predecessor club, OstGut) until he started DJing in 2003. By the time of his joining with Ostgut Booking agency in October 2015 Massi had already constantly delivered – the DJ and producer has left a strong mark on House music throughout the years with energetic, playful and deep sets behind the decks, two acclaimed solo albums on Live At Robert Johnson and various collaboration projects. His residency at Panorama Bar therefore was a no-brainer – but the musical link by one of House music’s finest with the club’s label was still missing. Now Massi steps up with four new tracks and his first release on Ostgut Ton.
Heavily influenced by classic Chicago House, Electro and early Disco music Massi’s new EP serves as a cross-section of his musical interest as a producer and sonic palette as a selector. Working with vintage studio gear, analogue synthesizers and classic drum machines, his Time And Again EP is as warm and soulful as it’s lush and bursting with strength.

Phonica Review:

The concept of climactic and chassis shaking is synonymous with RAYKO. And his vision does not disappoint. It draws you in and layer by layer, this structurally more simplified midnight burner slowly but surely intensifies - through its reliance on chunky bass, trademark mid-point vocal introduction and heavy use of synths. It is both playful and a little bit naughty. Destination dance floor.

Taken  from Nang´s "The Array Vol.3" - The label´s yearly compilation of big tunes and future hits - this previously unreleased banger from the Rare Wiri label boss is everything you want from a nu-disco track. The mood is deep, urgent, and cosmic. The drums are solid and the analogue synth wash over you like a tidal wave. Tracks like this are what got everyone so excited about Prins Thomas´s and Lindstrom sets in the early days. It´s not plastic, it´s not overly cheerful, it´s just brooding future disco made for pummeling a club.

Not a week goes by without a new Rayko release dropping, making him the disco edit scene's version of Marco Dionigi, a man who finishes an album on average every 13 seconds. Dragon Soul, though, is the Spanish re-edit king's first full-length. It rather surprisingly hangs together well as an album, offering a typically dubbed-out mix of sparkling boogie, comfy deep house and, of course, cheeky disco. Highlights wise, there's plenty to excite, from an excellent re-dub of D-Train and the sweaty disco of "Love Wars", to the oh-so-sensual "Conscious Of My Love" and the jazzy gorgeousness of "You're No Better Than A Common Thief".

Obviously selection plays an important part in any good edit, and Rayko picks the jams ranging from sexy disco funk (Sumy's "Funkin In Your Mind") and party starting italo (K.I.D.'s "Come And Get It") to slept-on garage style classics (D-Train's "Keep Giving Me Love") and deep burning 80's r&b (Womack & Womack "Conscious of My Conscious" and "Love Wars"). All edits are done tastefully with much respect to the original and enough added punch to move the modern dancefloor. Also includes a killer edit of Final Edition's "I Can Do It Anyway" as used for A-Trak and Armand's "aNYway". 8 tracks over double vinyl from Glenview Records. Recommended.

A bassline fattened here, an effect added there, a loop cut and pasted over here... Hot disco edits from a man at the top of his game right now.

GVLP002 Side A2 Conscious (Rayko Mighty Dragon Soul Edit) [low quality]

After 7 snapped up twelves including Ruben & Ra’s breakthrough anthem ‘Newer Shooz’, their viral follow-up ‘Street Machine’ and the Juno chart-topping ‘People‘ by Rayko, the West London-based Retrospective label are set to release their first long-player May 2012.

Since the imprint’s inception in January 2011, label boss Ra has carefully scoured the nu-disco spectrum to assemble an international roster of like-minded artists. In recent months, in light of the fold’s emergence, Retrospective has steadily been expanding their global network by commissioning tracks from many of the scene’s leading names. For the first in a series of three compilations, ‘Retrospective All-Stars Vol. 1’ is purposed to both commemorate this growing stature, while showcasing the wealth of talent from within the label’s newly extended family.

Comprised of 12 previously unreleased cuts spread across a DJ friendly triple-vinyl pack, the album is opened in fine style by the revered Argentinian Toomy Disco’s first cut for Retrospective, entitled ‘Peppermint’. Montenegro national Fil Lavin, who took the baton for Retro005, provides a trademark lick of deep house, while Glaswegian Slow It Down and Bristolian Jimmy The Twin respectively make their Retrospective debuts to complete the first disc.

Over on the second disc, Spanish boogie chronicler Rayko, who provided the material for Reto002 and Retro006, joins American Trev-Ski, Londoner Harry Benson (aka Picture House) and the Utrecht-residing Romanian Andrei Idu under his celebrated moniker, The Legendary 1979 Orchestra. Completing the package, Frenchman Art Bleek, the Berlin-based Mudegg, Scotsman Jamie Buchanan (aka 78 Edits) and of course, label figureheads Ruben & Ra all feature on the final disc.

Retospective All-Stars Vol 1 comes packaged in a limited triple-vinyl pack, with a luxury finish to give this landmark compendium a deserved sense of occasion.

Based in the beautiful and vibrant city of Madrid, Spanish DJ and Producer Extraordinaire - Rayko has been a leading light in the clubbing scene around Europe and beyond, since he founded his magnificent Rare Wiri label in 2008 where he has released some of the coolest names out there during all these years like Daniele Baldelli, Man Parrish, Gazeebo, Ilija Rudman, Ichisan, Spirit Catcher, Mushrooms Project, or Eric Duncan among many others

His very unique sound and personality, and incredible work ethic, coupled with  unstoppable creative genius have given Rayko the momentum and consistency to stack up a number of great achievements in his genres, although being such a humble and down to earth guy, he will tell you that he just loves what he does and is perpetually inspired to keep on doing it! 

Deeply rooted in the golden era of the ‘70s and ‘80s, Rayko’s influences are masterfully interpreted and transformed into modern day dancefloor bombs with great vision. Many of these titles have been repeatedly featured in Top 10 sales charts, with some releases making it to the coveted number one position on platforms like Juno Download, Beatport, and Traxsource. His talents as a remixer have been in constant high demand, with invitations from coveted Artists like Psychemagik, Sirs, In Flagranti, Roberto Rodriguez, or Dj Rocca, to name a few, calling upon his exceptional skills.
