Tchad Blake, the renowned audio engineer for Tom Waits and Paul McCartney, echoed Thompson's sentiment, declaring, "Strange Part of the Country is an awesome album! I still listen to it."

Conil's music reached great heights when Fleetwood Mac blues icon Peter Green paid a visit to his studio, driven by his admiration for Conil's music. The collaboration between the two resulted in a mesmerizing, mellow version of Conil's homage to the jazz greats, "Round Midnight."

As Strange Part of the Country continues to resonate with listeners around the world, it is experiencing a well-deserved renaissance and becoming an all-time favorite. 

Upon its release in the UK, Strange Part of the Country made some waves. Q magazine, the country's best-selling music monthly, recognized its exceptional quality with a prestigious "Four stars - Q Recommends" rating, while Blues Matters magazine celebrated Conil as "one of the most original artists out there," giving him the front cover feature.

Born in England, Conil's musical roots extend to England, Ireland, and France, but his deep affection lies with the sounds of American music.

Following the release of Strange Part of the Country, he embarked on a transformative journey, spending the past decade residing in various cities across the United States and Europe, including New York City, New Orleans, Chicago, Athens, and Berlin.

Conil is currently immersed in making a second album, a project that reunites him with the incomparable talents of Danny Thompson and Tchad Blake, as well as several other world class musicians.
