There's something eerie going down in Essex County, and I'm not talking about the Lake. Every since the marijuana grower Aphria Inc. moved into my hometown after the legalization of cannabis, there's been a massive light pollution problem thanks to their greenhouses. I guess this is the cost of doing Canna-business folks. 
You can see it from the Highway 401, you can even see it from Michigan, but what you can't see is the stars at night. This is sure to have an effect on the surrounding ecology, including the circadian rhythms of the wildlife, and you know Essex County is known for it's migrating wildlife, whether it's monarch butterflies, Canada geese, or human beings. 

Unfortunately, the Leamington town councilors aren't standing up to these people, they're still playing ball because Aphria Inc. is making them and the feds way too much money.  Of course, they needed them to fill the economic void ever since Warren Buffet's investment firm 'Berkshire Hathaway' bought out Heinz, and broke up that strong factory union. 

So what is one townie boy to do? I can't burn the place to the ground, I don't wanna end up in jail. So I wrote a song that tells the story of the situation. The only way we're gonna force their hand is to buy your weed local. You all know neighbors that grow the stuff. Buy from them. Don't buy from Aphria. (Check the label on your bud when you buy from a government dispensary)


P.S. Don't even get me started on that purple glow, too...they're both out there...competing for the night sky.
