Recorded and processed with some of the most rare and sought after vintage gear, using mic preamps such as Electrodyne, Quad Eight, V72, KM86, Bx44, Reslo and other mics. EMT 140 plate reverb, natural and chamber reverbs, Ampex 440B Tape Machine, live vocals, guitars, horns, flutes, pianos and a ton more of equipment to give you that authentic texture and sound of that early 70s era.

Soul Expressions is a massive collection of over 135+ vocal 1 shots, containing Lead Vocals, Adlibs, Background sections, Harmonies and Phrases, ranging in genres from 70s Motown Soul Vocals, Tons of Gospel adlibs & runs, plus Psychedelic & Jazz stylistic vocals all sung by PML Lead Vocalist Lauren Santi. Recorded thru some of the most rare and sought after analog equipment such as Quad Eight MM-310b preamps straight out of the Motown Sunrise console from 1973, Telefunken V72 Tube Preamps, RCA Bx 44 Ribbon mic, KM86 mics, Electrovoice 635A all processed thru vintage reverbs like the EMT 140 Plate Reverb the Polyphonic Studio Live Room. You can hear the texture, warmth and authenticity in every vocal take as if it were recorded in the environment of an early to late 70s studio.

We take a plane over to Madrid for the next Off The Record mix to hang with Mario G.R. AKA Glossy Mario, the head honcho at Glossy Mistakes; the record label that has been reissuing and unveiling the undiscovered.

With legendary names like Finis Africae, Susumu Yokota and Akira Ito recently getting some of their cult favourite releases reissued, this has proven Mario's ear is a thriving force of wisdom and knowledge showcased through his label with love and care. For this mix Mario focuses on percussive sounds and older gems with modern takes to combine together a mix that is intuitive as well as club ready! He sat down with our own Alex Egan for a quick chat about the mix as well as what he has coming up!
