EYA Records label has scored another big one here with this old-school House and Techno flavoured EP by UK producer Tom Carruthers. In the last couple of years, the Chesire music-making machine has impressed with a series of super solid releases on LIES and his own Non Stop Rhythm imprint.
“In Grooves EP” is an ode to the 90’s dance music sound with a modern and refreshing perspective.
The opener “ So Long’ is a driving and hypnotic peak time track while “Distant World” is evocative and dreamy.
On the flip side “Echoes’ is an acid-tingled deep cut that will make move every dancefloor, closing the EP is the superb bleepy number “Mode 7”. Limited to 300 copies, don’t miss it.

Sex Tapes From Mars return with four more scintillating dancefloor-centric beats procured from the outer regions of the galaxy for your listening pleasure. 

STFM004 is the amalgamation of two original productions extracted from an evasive 12” by Gulf Breeze presented alongside two reinterpretations courtesy of star strikers of the Paris underground Nemo Vachez & Muelsa. Though each track possesses a distinct flavour, all four are unanimous in providing fuel for the peak time of the party utilising hypnotic percussion, driving basslines and an on the nose vocal commanding the listener to Dance as the record spins.

Originally written in London in 1995, both original mixes of Something Strange retain their potency and with a fresh remaster, sound larger than ever. Both the OG and Mr & Mrs Do The Business mix effortlessly cruise into a state of frenzied euphoria via two unmistakable basslines which leave no raver behind. 

The B side first sees Nemo Vachez apply his slick hand to the track, acknowledging its character but making it totally his own. The Alien Garage Mix is a slinky cut of UKG with added extraterrestrial seasoning, chiming into a perfect recipe for an efficacious dancefloor bomb. 

On B2 Muelsa provides a genre blurring remix which pays homage to the golden era of house from which the original harks, whilst adding a spin which is entirely of the moment. The staunch, driving percussion leads the track through a dreamy acid trip that pulls you in multiple directions before resolving into a final blissful trance.

SEXTAPE005 lands in the form of four ethereal modular jams courtesy of Bristol-based Boulderhead. “Tomorrow People” is a record which tickles the dancefloor’s most tender spots, the tracks are trippy, dreamy and warm yet all the while driving, complex and intense.

The record kicks off with Okii - a sassy bassline driven groover with a playful vocal destined to put a smile on any listeners face. The intensity is turned up a notch with A2 - Tomorrow People, a slinky fist pumper with squelchy stabs and dissonant vocals designed to get the crowd going.

On the flip Informatic serves a tight yet smooth ride into bliss via shuffly percussion and long and enveloping pads resulting in a track with perfect utility for the warm up or the crack on. The EP ends with Nutrient Streams, a sticky minimal roller that cruises effortlessly with the same psychedelic swagger heard throughout the whole EP.

Boulderhead - Tomorrow People (SEXTAPE005)

For the first time in our 25-year history, we are releasing a live solo recording by Craig Richards from the club. 

“This mix was recorded on the second of December at a Continuum party. I commenced just after five and finished at nine. The heady combination of nostalgia coupled with the past, the future and more importantly my daughter dancing next to me, resulted in a mix that I felt happy with. Historically, I have been very self-critical and have chosen not to release many mixes. Across nearly four hours this one seems to encapsulate the twenty five years of playing at fabric. In 1998 I was invited by Keith Reilly to play weekly at what was an imaginary nightclub. I had no idea that experience would continue for so many years. Playing vinyl on that sound system and mixer is highly exciting and a joy in itself. I am delighted that this has been my method of sonic communication and remain deeply grateful for my ongoing residency.” - Craig Richards

This year has not been a great year to say the least. We've had a lot of time indoors, not really had a clue what's going on, and been in the dark about when this is going to end. We now go into winter, where we may not be able to do the things we enjoyed during the summer lockdown.
We're all fully aware this has been a big impact on many people's mental health. Given it's Movember (A time to really reflect on men's health, and help a good cause) I created this mix with chilled out, fun and happy songs to help lighten the moods a bit. If you're in need of some music to study to, or you're feeling stressed out about anything hopefully this selection can give you that relief to help you through it. 
Remember to always reach out to someone if you're having any problems. Don't be alone x
