I never know what to say around you. The words feel too big in my mouth or too small for what I’m feeling. Sometimes I think you already understand me without them — maybe that’s why I keep stalling, hanging onto silence like it’s safer.
When I’m near you, it’s like everything else gets quieter. I notice the weight of your hand in mine, the way you lean into me like you trust I’ll catch you. And I would — every time. I’d give you anything, not because I’m trying to prove something, but because you make me want to.
