DJ Shadow - I've Been Trying (Third World Orchestra's Folkumbia Remix)

I saw Z-Trip at Coachella a few weeks back and was blown away by the creativity in his mix of these two songs, among others. Since I couldn't find a version anywhere online and several people showed interest in hearing what it would sound like, I thought I would throw something together real quick. I couldn't find or make an acapella of this song so I was stuck with only the original, so Z-Trip's version sounded a bit cleaner. The reason the vocals are so quiet and EQ'd down is to make the slight key clashes between the guitar from Jane Says and the bassline from Paper Planes less noticeable.
Again, this mix WAS NOT MY IDEA. I simply recreated Z-Trip's idea as a homage so that some friends could check out how it sounds. Check out some of Z-Trip's tunes and mixes for free over @ http://www.djztrip.com/downloads.html

Get involved with the first single release of Mankoora which now sees the light of the vinyl universe. Mankoora members Loopez (Piano & Organ), Alexander 'Newton' Bednasch (Bass & Guitar) and David Hanke (production) are coming up on the string to let

Mankoora deliver two hot & spicy dancefloor tunes to set the night on fire. First track 'El Loco' sees how they fuse uptempo Breakbeats, driving bass lines, hard hitting horns and a drooling organ to a latin groove that will leave you wanting more. An instant shaker with rich percussion lines and trough drums that won't leave any last toe-tipper dry on the dancefloor.

Flipside is the killer 'Boogaloo Tormenta', a great and relentless piece of music that will get you hooked, strictly for dancers! Introduced by the catching piano line and some great trumpet licks, the song quickly turns into the main vocal hook for ecstatic hip shakin' and wild fidgeting. The track goes mad with a filthy drum and rhythm break in the middle before turning back to the shakin' part....
