Not necessarily a place associated with the strong country, blues, and American roots rock that is this man. Armed with a leather-lunged, soulful voice that is as quickly at home with soul and R&B and sounds generally associated with points south and west. They say the best songs are those you have lived, and Rob has lived a lot. His songwriting draws on his life experience to the point that he is an entirely open book. His songs bare his soul and essence, a true old-time troubadour in every sense of the word, while maintaining relevance, given that all of us can find a little piece of ourselves in his music. Sit back, give a listen, and you'll see for yourself how deep his river runs. Not only will you identify with his songs, some of them will be like old friends, but his songs are also a look in the mirror.

I'm mike golub.  I play drums and guitar and play mostly improvised music every Friday night in Gowanus, Brooklyn. 

Currently I am playing with the psychedelic punk rock group, Subskin Cables and playing some free jazz gigs occasionally. 

A few years back, I was the founder and organizer of the Red Hook Jazz Fest in Brooklyn.  I also help run the Urban Meadow, a community garden in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
