A fuzzy freestyle 2.5 hour mix of 90 tracks, with a HEAVY alternative & classic rock presence, nestled alongside soul & funk, and an assortment of hip hop, blues, psych, post-punk, dub, reggae & ska.

This is another in a sporadic series of eclectic mixtapes comprised of records I plucked from a crate for a recent gig; this time warming up for one of my fave groups & old compadres, The Heavy, at their sold-out headline gig at Koko in London (Sep 15th 2023). This selection includes several tracks from them, and a variety of genres touching on sonics incorporated in the band’s sound.

Ranging from legends like Hendrix, the Stones, the Beatles, Led Zep, The Stooges, Fleetwood Mac, Marvin Gaye & James Brown, to current artists like SAULT, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Say She She, Anderson Paak & Tame Impala, along with King Tubby, Cymande, The Specials, White Stripes, Run the Jewels, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, J Dilla and loads more.

John Carpenter - Halloween (Alert Rmx)

Probably greatly recognized as the theme from the motion picture 'Assault On Precinct 13' and the later (1986) remix and self titled "Bambaataa's Theme" by Afrika Bambaataa. The beginning of the original was sampled by Todd Terry's - Bango To the Batmobile. John Anthony was the scratch engineer on the original, which was released on the German ZYX Record label.
