Lorde and Billie Eilish would be an absolutely divine collaboration. Lorde's single "Man of the Year", from Virgin, reminded me of Billie's classic "idontwannabeyouanymore", due to both songs being in the same key and having a waltz tempo. I also feel as though there's a lyrical connection; both songs see the singers exploring facets of their identity, and singing to said facets as if they are their own people. Hope you enjoy!

Such is the absolute truth for songwriter, producer, and artist Alex Nackman, whose has 16 years of experience to find out what persistence means in an ever changing industry and musical landscape.

But, with six albums, hundreds of tour dates, and dozens of songs placed throughout television and film, Alex Nackman has found a way to see through the fog and have others see him, while running the proverbial career-gamut as a musician and artist. 

He has had the privilege of opening for Norah Jones, The Roots, Zac Brown Band, and Buddy Guy to name a few. He has headlined venerable rooms such as The Troubadour in Los Angeles, ShowBox SoDo in Seattle, and The Borderline in London, among others.

As a writer and composer, Nackman has written music and placed songs with HBO, NBC, CBS Sports, AMC, Pokemon, Hyundai, Coca-Cola, Cadillac, BBC, and others.

Since taking less time on the road and more time in his Dumbo, Brooklyn studio, Nackman has worked with indie and major artists from Sony, Universal, BMG, Nettwerk/Kobalt, and Warner on production and album projects ranging from pop to alternative to rock to folk-- a writer with a full spectrum of creative input with an expansive musical palette.

Drawing influence from the nostalgic sounds of British New Wave and 90's American Alternative music, Alex Nackman's personal sound is reminiscent of The Cure, U2, Depeche Mode, Smashing Pumpkins, and others.

He is truly a writer and artist that strives forward and rarely looks back. His music has been built for a career with longevity and relevance for years to come-- with songs that have lasting impact. Named an MTV Buzzworthy Artist, an Apple iTunes Indie Spotlight Artist, and lauded by the BBC in London for his "electric fired gems,"

Nackman, now 33, grew up in Sleepy Hollow, New York playing the violin as a child and later as a member of the prestigious Westchester Youth Symphony, before slowly moving towards guitar and piano as a teenager. It only grew from there as open-mics and coffee house gigs advanced toward the likes of The Roxy and Bowery Ballroom. 

Nackman currently lives in Brooklyn, New York with his wife, Paola. He produces, writes, and mixes music from his home and commercial studio in Dumbo, Vinegar Hill Sound.

I'm a Canadian singer-songwriter rooted in classic country, with strong threads of folk, blues, and rock weaving through my sound. Though I play acoustic and electric guitar, my heart has always belonged to the keys—piano and synths are my mainstays. I draw inspiration from legends like Hank Williams Sr., John Prine, Lyle Lovett, and Stompin’ Tom Connors (yep, I went there!). My songs reflect the stories of a life lived across Montreal, Calgary, Texas, and beyond—tales of music halls, prairie skies, radio booths, and the open sea.

After years in radio broadcasting, where I interviewed everyone from Roy Acuff to Garth Brooks, I turned inward to focus on my own music. I’ve since released a growing collection of original songs that blend heartfelt storytelling with a sense of humor and a dash of wanderlust—fueled by over 30 cruises and travels spanning the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia. These days, I livestream music and birdwatching sessions from the edge of Fish Creek Park in Calgary, often joined by my guitar, parrot Paco, and a sunrise chorus of feathered friends.

Whether it's quirky travel tunes, love songs written in the stars, or memories wrapped in melodies, I’m here to share the songs that got me through—and maybe help someone else find their rhythm too.
