Regarded upon his 2006 arrival as a promising beatmaker looming in the shadows of J Dilla, Madlib, waterfalls and Dabrye, Steven Ellison -- known as Flying Lotus -- nullified all comparisons only two years later with Los Angeles. On that album, his first of five for the Warp label, Ellison distilled a uniquely crisp, spasmodic, and heady sound with elements of hip-hop, avant-garde jazz, IDM, and dubstep. While the abovementioned producers fueled Ellison, he had also been excited as a youngster by the '90s West Coast rap classics that combined programming and live instrumentation. His sound continued to develop as he put his own twist on the approach, recording with a crop of jazz musicians including the indispensable likes of bassist Thundercat and strings master Miguel Atwood-Ferguson. This process began with the turbulent 2010 set Cosmogramma and peaked in terms of acclaim in 2014 with You're Dead!, which crashed the Top 20 of the Billboard 200 and spawned the Kendrick Lamar collaboration "Never Catch Me," a Grammy nominee for Best Dance Recording. Ellison devoted a few years to various forms of film work and the operation of his revered Brainfeeder label, and returned in 2019 with Flamagra, his second consecutive album to top Billboard's Dance/Electronic chart.

Recently,The Southside of Chicago has been associated with much positivity, and is widely considered one of the most difficult environments to overcome. However, some of the most beautiful roses can come from the most damaged concrete.  Derrick Rose, Kanye West,Common,R.Kelly, and President Obama, to name a few, all are inspirations and incredible examples of humble beginnings, perseverance, and great triumph. Marcus Kincy’s story starts alike on the south side of Chicago. A product of his surroundings, Kincy was raised by his Great-GrandParents, and elders in his community. From an early age Kincy was blessed with the gift of Music, and started playing drums at just 5 years old. To escape the harsh realities of life on the Southside, Kincy spent most of his time in church, where he first learned to play the piano at age 13. Like his parents before him, he attended the infamous, Fenger High School and grew up in Roseland and more specifically, "The Hundreds”. During and most notably, after high school Marcus began playing piano and music directing gospel music all over Chicago and North America. In just his 2nd semester at Trinity Christian College he met Rex Hardy Jr. who believed in his talent, and wanted Kincy to tour with Keri Hilson and The Dream. Marcus was at a crossroads, he deeply wanted to finish his education,but couldn't help but to follow his heart. This was the turning point in Kincy’s career. The “A Different Me'' tour was a huge success and opened up doors for him to learn the basics of the business working with artist like,The iconic Queen of hiphop and R&B, Mary J. Blige, Jill Scott, Diddy Dirty Money/Puff Daddy & The Family, Nick Jonas/The Association/The Jonas Brothers, Kendrick Lamar/Schoolboy Q, Nicki Minaj, BjtheChicagoKid, Jay-Z, and a host of other talented artist. Even though Marcus was grateful, he felt he was not fulfilling his life's purpose. Making music and inspiring the world is his lasting goal and he recognized that now is the time to start his legacy among his era of creators. Kincy prides himself on being a diverse singer/songwriter/composer/producer and took the next step in his music development in the means of artistry and production. “20s”, Kincy’s debut project, is set to release late fall 2015. Kincy’s music can be described as true heartfelt “Trap&B”,( R&B with a heavy urban undertone), and he strives to make good music for good people while sharing the raw experiences of were he came from and how he was able to overcome, and succeed. PJ is a Bassist, writer & entrepreneur from Chicago’s West Side. PJ began playing bass guitar at the age of 8 years old. His cousin bought a bass guitar and a keyboard for his son to play. He did not take to it and passed it on to PJ. While PJ was practicing with his cousins, PJ realized that he could play by ear. This was the beginning of a beautiful thing for PJ.

While PJ was attending Hugh Manley High School in Chicago, he learned to read music and to go on and sharpen his bass playing skills. In his sophomore year PJ was selected to be a part of Manley’s Jazz band. From there PJ was selected to be the bass player for The Chicago All-City Jazz Band from 1984 to 1987. During this time PJ received numerous awards which include “The Outstanding Soloist Award” at the Midwest Jazz Festival and “Outstanding Musician of the Year” from All City Jazz Band of Chicago.

After High school PJ started playing professionally around the Chicago area and Gospel recording artist Rev. Jessy Dixon approached me and asked me to become the full-time bass player for him and his choir. It was Rev. Dixon, who taught PJ showmanship and how to be a professional musician. This position provided PJ with the opportunity to perform with the talents of Andre and Sandra Crouch, Kurt Carr and Abraham Laboriel.

Currently PJ working with his new project “PJ & Soul” and just finished a CD to be release in November 2013. PJ also is touring the USA and abroad with Rodney Sir Nose Trotter as Bass Player and Musical Director. When not touring PJ is doing clinics and studio sessions.
