KING burst onto the scene this June with the release of her debut single "Promise", a flawlessly produced, life-affirming record that established her  as one of the years hottest new talent. Gritty and defiant, KING makes nuanced and mature pop music with genuine emotional heft, an avenue which is explored further with the release of "Police". Where on "Promise" her vocals were used equally as a sonic texture as a lead in their own right, with "Police"

KINGs vocals are set front and centre. By turns commanding and sultry, "Police" is an inspirational call to arms, with the euphoric bridge giving way to a rousing vocal + synth led chorus.

hey heres my official cover of the knife with the beautiful singer Ester Adele.
i rarely speak about my releases, but i have to say something about this "cover"..
im very happy this cover got cleared by The Knife (!). 
big salute to my team Transparent Agency Red Smoke Publishing CTM they really fought for this track. they were sending mails back and forth with managements/labels for 6 months, every damn week.. 
the original track means alot to me, so for releasing this as a original with a clearance from The Knife feels like a wierd good dream..

Feels incredible to be releasing my Debut Album, it's been such a long process and such a long challenge it kind of felt like this day would never come, but it did.

Conceptually the album is about romanticizing a naive world view. That naiveness and ignorance is something to be cherished. There's something really beautiful about the perfect worldview you have as a kid, that the world is harmless, beautiful and good. The more you learn and experience though the more you realise everything isn't perfect. So the less you know the more beautiful it is, it's the things we haven't done, the places we don't know, that have this unquestionable beauty to it. it's this world i'm trying to mirror with my album, the one that stays in your imagination.

Musically i knew i wanted to do a sonic representation of the concept, blending worldly sounds with small bedroom type samples and soundscapes. I really loved the idea of those two polarizing things being the two main factors that would lay the ground for the album.

Wake Up Call is the second song off 1993, and features @mansionair. I initially heard the demo and felt a strong connection to the lyrics and wanted to create and develop a world that matched the emotional integrity of them. It was one of the first songs i finished from the EP and paved the direction for how the rest of the project would sound like 🌲
