Well recorded and constructed, and a good evolution. Having read the description, I re-listened trying to detect the new note every two measures. Nicely done.

This instrument made of fireballs immediately made me think of the two organ pipes I have in my studio. I took them outside and played them with a shop vac. A bit noisy, but there it is.

Added two elements to 33per's track, both are made from samples of the lowest organ pipe. Left lots of empty space.

As the original track is stereo and makes use of that, my mix is also stereo with my parts layered on. I have a version with hard panning if you prefer.

I wanted to add some light harmony to underscore the melody. Converted the melody to midi harmony in Ableton. Made some light adjustments to midi notes here and there. Used the Schwarzonator 2.0 device to help add some additional chord notes. Chose some light key sounds from Kontakt 40's keys and Playbox. Also light bass from Lode, and melodic tabla. Tapped in the shaker parts. Panned hard right with orginal panned left. 

Enjoyed listening Sinny Sound's lovely melody while making this. I'll be humming it all week!

It was fun listening to everyone's "Left" tracks this week, I'm always in awe by this community's talent and creativity!

I just added a 808 kick and played bass. Most satisfying and less time consuming on the lot, but I don’t think it works, a 4th (soloist) part is needed IMHO.

I added a bit of static to CoralineAda’s and Leon Clowes’ mezmerizing duo as an attempt to heighten the tension of the “missed connection” implied by the vocal sample. The static was created with the Landscape Stereofield and tamed somewhat by one of Hainbach’s presets for the Zoia.

The Dissolved Embrace  (disquiet0638) by Torpid Scorpion, John Wright & Jimmy Lem

I started by asking the kids to select "five super tiny sounds". I resisted giving them any further instruction. They came up with: 

1) foaming hand-soap dispenser
2) water drip
3) pillow fluff
4) knitting needles
5) page turning.

This was surprisingly hard! The injunction not to modify the five sounds, and work only with rhythm made me really work. And constraining myself to the five sounds the kids came up with (even if not strictly "pin prick" sized) compounded the problem, as they didn't naturally form a cohesive set of sounds.

I opted to focus on "super tiny" in the rhythm: It grows just one note every two measures, starting from five notes, one per sound. It also accelerates by a tiny amount through to the end. I also decided that adjusting the volume per note was acceptable (but no amplitude modulation or envelope, save click reduction). I had to work from both ends: Composing the final rhythm, then reducing to just five notes for the start, and then mostly working backwards from the final point.

Composed in Ableton Live... no processing on the sounds or mix.
