Category five Typhoon Haiyan struck the Philippines at 4.30am local time on Friday 8 November forcing millions of people to seek shelter. Latest estimates indicate up to 5 million children may have been impacted by the disaster. The releases of this remix EP comes off the back of the fantastic rework created by Daktyl which rocketed to number 4 on Hypemachine and received over 100,000 plays on soundcloud in just two weeks. This EP however is lead by recent Project Mooncircle signee Hanami. Having already released incredibly well received remixes for London Grammar and Hayden James, UK producer Hanami AKA Ryan Newton is well on his way to stirring things up on the world stage. 
The collection also includes remixes from weirdo art-bass duo Friendships, prolific beats producer Electric Sea Spider, and Phillip Island reclusive teenager elkkle.

Today, breath-taking post-classical artist Poppy Ackroyd shares her brand new single ‘The Calm Before’ taken from her first full-length album with One Little Indian Records, Resolve – out early 2018. A classically trained pianist, violinist, producer, and composer, Ackroyd turned heads in the neo-classical world with her previous works Escapement and Feathers, as well as her involvement in Hidden Orchestra (Tru Thoughts).

Having played alongside giants of the genre, Hauschka and Nils Frahm, the unique musician has returned, newly signed to Bjork’s label One Little Indian Records, fresh off the back of a mini-album Sketches, and set to release her brand new self-produced full-length record - her most ambitious and progressive piece of work to date.

"Once Apart describes the state of being separated from one another. It´s not necessarily a place where you lose connection, it can even be something that gets you closer and everything you feel is floating, growing and waiting to become concrete again. The absence of the physical makes room for an inner connection. „My eyes are filled with your space“ is probably the main statement, meaning that once we´re apart we become one. „Once Apart“ has never been performed live on stage - I don´t know why, but it has always been a song that I just kept playing on the piano for myself. I think that it would particularly demand more of my emotional AND technical focus on stage and I didn´t feel ready for it until now. The song has evolved over the last 3 years and I´m glad it has found its way onto the record."

March 27th sees the release of Piano Day exclusive ‘Opals’ – a beautiful and meditative cut off Catching Flies’ forthcoming debut album (due for release on June 21st). Inspired by the likes of Ryuichi Sakamoto, Olafur Arnalds, and Nils Frahm’s Solo Piano work, Catching Flies speaks on making ‘Opals’ – ‘I borrowed a Wurtlizer and just spent a few days improvising on it and recording everything into a tape machine. This was one of the first ideas that fell out. The music on the album generally has a lot of layers, but with Opals, I wanted to strip it right back - I wanted to keep it really sparse and simple. A lot of the time it’s the music that comes together very quickly that ends up being my favourite.’

Catching Flies’ music draws from a wide-ranging palette of influences including jazz, soul, hip-hop, house and electronica and has previously seen him handpicked by Bonobo to provide support on his World Tour. Having gathered tens of millions of streams, praise from the likes of Dazed & Confused, iD Magazine, The Guardian and Nowness, as well as the support of Gilles Peterson, Annie Mac, Lauren Laverne, Julie Adenuga & Huw Stephens and a growing fanbase which has seen him perform across the UK, Europe, the USA and Asia.
