Venezuela-born, Berlin-residing Uchi has a knack for sculpting moody spaces from subtle, breathing rhythms: it should come as no surprise that her debut EP was released on Recondite's Plangent label last winter. The same sensibilities that steer her tracks are also apparent on her GhostlyCast, driving from shadowy drum and bass to pulsing interstellar techno, but her path never strays far from a warmth that is unmistakably generated by human emotion and memory.

As well as being the highly respected author behind 'Some Wear Leather, Some Wear Lace: The Worldwide Compendium of Postpunk and Goth in the 1980s' she is also an incredible DJ in her own right. Armed with an encyclopaedic knowledge of EBM, Industrial, goth, new wave and all things dark, Andi expertly channels the doom, gloom and boom into dancefloor mayhem. Her Synthicide party at Bossa Nova Club in Brooklyn is seminal and you should definitely check it out if you're ever in NY. We ❤ Andi ! Enjoy x
