Shao Zheng(born in 1985) endeavors to compose music that merges "intense Chinese culture influences and his own unique personality". He is the winner of 2016 Celebrate Asia Composition Competition, and his winning piece BaiChuanFuHai received a world premiere by Seattle Symphony in Seattle, Washington. In 2015, his symphonic overture XiaoYaoYou has been performed as one of the finalists by the China National Opera House orchestra in the Chinal National Center of Performing Arts concert hall in Beijing, China. Shao Zheng holds a bachelor degree from Tianjin Conservatory, China, where he gave a whole evening concert of his orchestral works performed by the Tianjin Symphony Orchestra. In 2014, he received the master's degree in music composition from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. 

Shao Zheng is currently a doctral student studying music composition at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance. He is also the winner of the 2011 Gerald Kemner Prize in Orchestral Composition with his piece A Farewell, and his string quartet, Elegy, as the selected piece received its world premiere on February 29, 2012 by Carpe Diem String Quartet at the Musica Nova concert as part of the UMKC Chamber Music Composition Competition.

As a pianist, Shao Zheng received the International Piano Master Class Diploma by the Grazyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Lodz, Poland, playing Maurice Ravel’s Jeux d'eau at the Arthur Rubinstein Concert Hall in the final concert. From 2011, he has become a resident pianist for the Musica Nova ensemble, especially playing contemporary chamber music and solo piano music; also the pianist in Composer’s Guild ensemble and the pianist in Radical Art and Technology ensemble.  He has a huge range of piano repertoire, which including both piano music from the classical repetoire and contemporary piano music written by his fellow composition students, professors, and renowned contemporary composers. 

SHAO is his family name, and Zheng is his personal name. In Chinese manner, surname is listed in front, and given name is next.

Elbert Liu (b. 1988) is a native of southern California and earned a DMA degree in music composition from the University of Missouri - Kansas City (UMKC), where he studied with Chen Yi, Zhou Long, and Paul Rudy. He received his Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of Southern California (USC), where he previously studied under Frank Ticheli, Stephen Hartke, and Erica Muhl. 
He has attended the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, the Bowdoin International Music Festival, and the Atlantic Music Festival. In 2009, he won the 2nd Annual Charles E. Gamper Contemporary Student Compostion Competition Award, and in 2013, he was selected as one of 15 composers to partake in a 15-Minutes-of-Fame event hosted by the contemporary music organization Vox Novus, featuring the Crane Harp Ensemble. Most recently, Elbert won the 2014 Gerard Kemner Wind Ensemble Composition Competition Prize, and his winning work, "A Particle-ar Theory", was performed by the UMKC Wind Symphony in 2015.
Apart from his studies in composition, Elbert served as a conducting/library assistant intern for the California Philharmonic, headed by Victor Vener, during the summer seasons of 2012 and 2013. He currently serves as an independent contractor under the USC Thornton School of Music, as well as a librarian for the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra (LAYO). Elbert has also served as a tutor in piano, music composition and music theory.
