Kicking off the New Year by announcing: "Nube Diamante," a collaborative single EP featuring an insane talent combination between @andrealacoste @mysteryaffair and @azaria_mad . The release is set to drop in the end of January 2023 and the original is sure to be a floor banger with a spectrum of sounds and lyrics that unfold like an exciting experience.

"Nube Diamante" showcases instrospective personals with peak time brushes, a piece reinterpreted via outstanding remixes from some of the hottest names among the indie dance / dark disco platforms. @chas.gracias remix is a tropical trance with latin touch, powerful bass and cowbells, then straight from Guatemala, @riveiby brings to the table a neo pop psychedelic pachanga driven by antagonic grooves. This EP also includes a remix from @ivan_delarouch , head honcho at Logical Records, a special collaboration from the Spanish artist @parissior and a bonus vocal rework from Andrea. Dina Summer (@dinasummer), the international trip of Berlin-based producer Kalipo and powerhouse DJ couple Local Suicide present ‘Rimini Remixes’, an ambitious remix 12-inch bursting with energy on Iptamenos Discos. The artists met at a rave in 2013 and have been pushing boundaries ever since with their unique blend of new wave, late 90’s electro, and elements of 80’s disco. This new release comes after a busy year for the ever-prolific trio, following the release of their globally acclaimed debut album ‘Rimini’, soon to be reissued on Audiolith.

The ‘Rimini Remixes’ EP is a groovy four-tracker featuring remixes by household names of the Italian scene, including three exclusive tracks. The first remix of ‘Mars’ sees cosmic icon Daniele Baldelli join forces with Marco Dionigi, the experimental trailblazer and head of Prismatikone Records’ Quantistic Division. The two long-time collaborators have been making waves together since the 90s with their convention-defying sound. Their remix brings out the dreamy undertones of the original, with a beautifully evocative melody threading through the track, as soft, spacey vocals float overhead.

The legendary electro pioneer and producer of the 80’s cult hit ‘Problèmes d’Amour’ Alexander Robotnick then brings a stripped-down, subtly retro remix of ‘Amore’, with metallic echoes and a smooth bassline that perfectly underscore the sensual lyrics.

The prolific selector, producer and owner of the Italian labels Slow Motion and New Era Fabrizio Mammarella follows, lending his trademark experimental touch to the ‘Rimini’ remix. He shows off his exceptional technical talent with this exclusive track, twisting it to bring out faded vocals and mechanical undertones that evoke the inner workings of a dysfunctional machine.

The final remix comes from the Berlin-based producer Italo Brutalo (@italobrutalo), known for his outstanding mixing skills and his spectacular live acts that led him to perform all over the world. He closes off with a minimalistic, tense version of ‘Wunderbar’, stripping the song down to its core elements before adding an eerie touch with distorted, robotic notes.

Refreshing and unpredictable, this release takes you along for a deep dive into a surprising variety of genres and influences that will take your breath away at every turn.

Cleaning up my computer and files I came across many tracks I've done in the past that are useless and horrible. Buuut I found a couple that I felt could work pretty well nowadays. Everyone is playing fast, so let's just go back in time to my hard drive 7 to 10 years ago and enjoy some 105 to 110 bpm tunes. Repetitive, groovy, heavy basslines and a good old snare.

Timothy 'Heretic' Clerkin puts the soup and tweed to one side and goes full Orbital with 'Execute'

Having recently put out music from Bawrut and Ivan Smagghe, Ransom Note Records are back with a new EP from Timothy ‘Heretic’ Clerkin. Home to three dancefloor stormers + one insane remix from Marlon Hoffstadt, the Serenade EP is chock full of breakbeats and gurgling acid lines and twiddly little synth bits.

What do we know about Timothy ‘Heretic’ Clerkin then? Well, we know he’s released on labels including Tusk Wax and Rotters Golf Club, both as Heretic and as one half of Eskimo Twins. We know he was once crowned the fastest barman in West Yorkshire. And we also know two of his great passions in life are soup and tweed. Even in the summer heat.

The latest track from the EP to see the light of day is ‘Execute’, a demolition tool that harks back to the halcyon days of peak Orbital. It’s already been rinsed by the likes of Andrew Weatherall, who closed Panorama Bar with it last month and reportedly tore the roof off.

“I was playing around in the studio with a Fender Rhodes one day”, Timothy explains of the track’s genesis, “putting it through various amps and filters, then resampling it - that's how I came up with the main rave stab riff. As that part is played by hand and quite human, I wanted the rest of the instrumentation to be very mechanical and programmed, which is where the title comes from.”
