Duro is pleased to present 'Muy Divas,' a compilation curated by international Mexican tastemaker Mystery Affair. Celebrating diversity and freedom, this 8 track glorious journey includes music by the talented bandolera Villaseñor, the chilean and Madrid based Fernanda Arrau, the french Mala Ika, the duo Brolorizo, Argentina's InVertida, the Mexican SÜSS, and the mighty and unique Hard Ton & Urvin June ft. Lilly Escuelita.
The collection of stompers begins with the visionary and groovy Villaseñor's 'Emergency Loop.' This bouncy and trance-inducing track will transport you to a rhythmic Valhalla. Did anyone mention ecstasy? Next, Fernanda Arrau takes us on a jubilant quest with 'Calypso,' a Caribbean infused booter that invites you to test your nicest footwork to the rhythm of a pounding Bassline.
Mala Ika amazed us with 'Yumis Kopfstoß,' a dynamic and turbine geared trance driver, featuring an electrifying bassline and sparkling melodies that twinkle like bulbs in the ceiling. On the other hand, Brolorizo slows down the tempo with 'Leave Me Alone,' a lush and playful track with a solid bassline and haunting chords that intertwine with delicate vocals, enveloping you in a soft silk you can't escape from.
InVertida takes control with 'Retorno,' a cyclic, minimalist, and mind-bending track. With its rumbling bassline and breezy synthesizers, this one gets inside your body without warning. From Guadalajara, SÜSS delivers a proper acid techno track with 'The Sky Belongs To Everyone,' where distorted beats and magnetic tones create an atmosphere that sends you straight to the asylum. Next, Hard Ton & Urvin June ft. Lilly Escuelita pleases us with an instant classic, 'Operating Worldwide,' a house track with introspective, deep, and sophisticated sounds.
To land off the compilation, we have 'Trippy Candy' by pack leader Mystery Affair. It is a percussive, slightly dark recording featuring melting noises and classic stab house elements. 'Muy Divas Vol. 1' will be available starting from June 30th on all digital platforms.

Beyond The Struttosphere is a new collaboration between Leo Strutt (Strutt Bros DJs) and Ben Chetwood (Flying Mojito Bros, Damian Lazarus’s Ancient Moons) aimed at channelling their considerable musical production experience and boundless love of cosmic dark disco. Their first track, New Frontier, was self-released late in 2019 and is a slow-burning chug through the cosmos, littered with spacey vintage synth motifs and crunchy power chords. It found much acclaim among Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnson’s A Love From Outer Space online fraternity, and was featured in The Juan Mclean’s (DFA Records) recent contribution to Tim Sweeney’s Beats In Space mix series. The original is given a makeover by K-Effect, a stalwart of the dark disco scene. His take meanders down a progressive cosmic wormhole with driving basslines and trippy synth riffs that drive the tune to its spaced-out finale. 

The boys are back with a new offering on Gouranga Music, Rolling Thunder, a faster, more forthright dancefloor-orientated affair that means business. Complete with gnarly arpeggiator riffs, swirling psychedelic delay lines, a trippy vocal sample borrowed from Platoon, and their now trademark driven guitar power chords. The title track has been given the remix treatment by two aficionados of the scene, firstly the Mexican dark disco wizard Mufti turns up the heat, beefs up the bass, and dials the chug up to 11 to deliver a solid dancefloor destroyer. Cosmic disco legend James Rod delivers a second remix that strips the track right back to its core elements resulting in a minimal slow burner filled with dirty analogue electronics that builds up like a pressure cooker as the track progresses towards its conclusion. The EP finishes with a third remix by the in-house label crew, Gouranga Clan, which reimagines the track as a driving interstellar trip that is sure to spin out a few right-minded partygoers!

Elsewhere Damon Jee and Darlyn Vlys go full trance on 'Sin City', V takes on a cult Lithuanian classic from the mid 90s 'Insect Dance', Julian Stetter and Johannes Klingebiel collaborate for the very first time… And Rodion flips Jarle Brathen and Hard Ton's 'Master In Disguise' into an electro overture.

All this and stacks more; Correspondant have defied the curse of 2020 with musical innovation and premium positive vibrations. Keep on marching.
