Paul & The Wings - 1985 (Rollover Re-Edit)

We’re back, this time with another VA for the second instalment of our Extrasensorial Catalog, which aims to sooth your soul and ignite your senses.

A1 is brought to you by Stefano Andriezzi, starting off with an explosive peak-time bomb, promising to keep your subwoofers trembling the dance floor in constant delight, and your neighbors shouting for more. A2 introduces Lo-Lo, an uprising artist from Uruguay, who brings us a mesmerizing track filled with rich textures, immersive pads, dynamic percussions and an all-around trippy, Egyptian-inspired ambience.

On the B side, we start off by heading over all the way to the UK, presenting a profound and introspective gem by non-other than one of Fabric’s residents, Anna Wall, that will, without a doubt, transport you into a perpetual hypnotic state. B2, courtesy of the duo Dream World (Chicaiza & Tro), offers a deep, emotional and intricate drum programming with a bit of a nostalgic vibe that will bring the heat no matter the time, a real masterpiece living up to the name of the duo.

Finally, we are more than glad to introduce Lan°, a young and very gifted artist hailing from Argentina, who’s interpretation of electronic music seamlessly melds the old school spirit and charm with a refreshing twist from the new generation, always blowing our minds.

Don't You Want Me (Simon Mills / Napoleon Remix)

Rayko's Rare Wiri label bring us a five-track EP from Rich Hall and Megan Jones, better known as Cuz Electric, a nu-disco duo who've also appeared on Midnight Riot, Particle Zoo and more. Opener 'Blurred Vision' has something of a Crazy P-ish feel in its Original form. Ilya Santana sprinkles some 80s disco dust over his remix, while Rayko himself takes the track into more dreamy, downtempo pastures. 'Gurvitz Dreams' is a druggy, chuggy affair with a Moroder-ish throb, while 'Polly' completes the EP on a livelier note with house-y pianos and soaring strings a-gogo.

Cuz Electric_Blurred Vision (Ilya Santana Space empire remix)

Future Flashbacks is an escalating slab of dark cosmic slo-mo disco that draws inspiration from pantheon of sources, including The Unknown Cases’ Masimbabele, Lindstrom, Diskjokke, Billy Idol and Andrew Weatherall’s A Love From Outer Space series. Driven power chords, rolling multi-layered bass lines, trippy vocal samples, 80s-tinged guitar licks and a healthy dose of acid power this chugger through to an arpeggiated breakdown that builds to a cosmic crescendo that drops to bring all the elements back together. 

Production notes: This was a project that started life several years ago as an experiment when making the transition from Logic to Ableton. It was shelved for a few years while I worked on other projects and was resurrected when I found out I was due to become a father in a few months’ time, so I wanted to get one last tune finished, and Flashbacks provided the perfect base. I upgraded many of the original synth and bass parts with newly acquired analogue synthesisers, recorded the guitar parts and beefed up the acid. Some of the original percussion parts remain, though have been twisted out of all recognition by running them through a series of distortion units, analogue delays and various other pieces of outboard gear. The breakdown originally consisted of a blues-rock style organ riff, which was pared back to more of a pad, but didn’t sit well with the new sound the track had acquired, so it was replaced by a whirling italo-cosmic arpeggiator part played on a Sequential Circuits Prophet 6 that was immensely fun to record live.

This track, produced a few years back for Golden Soul's 1 year anniversary, has surprisingly been slightly off the radar. This scandinavian nu disco inspired tune, as described by the producer, has been a dance floor killer for any Djs who got it in their music bag ; and for the on-going Christmas season,  Thoma Cher decided to give it away to djs & music lovers community. A perfect weapon for your coming new year eve.
