Ruin reminds me of canon Eclipse in the Ruin DLC when hes Eclipse and not Ruin. He only goes by Ruin because he and Eclipse are both Eclipses along with Solar so he doesnt want to confuse himself. Eclipse; Ruin and, Solar are different but they are all in the Eclipse category.

Ruin is the odd Eclipse model among all the Eclipses in the universes though since now Eclipse and Solar act the same since Eclipse made friends.

Ruin is the only Eclipse to be Sun and Moon merged. Hes seen as an outsider for this.

Ruin is the oldest animatronic alive.

Ruin used to be like Jigsaw when he pretended to be infected by the Ruin virus and during the Nexus era he used to unwillingly be forced to aid Nexus and Dark Sun; mainly Nexus.

Ruin doesn't pretend to be infected by the Ruin virus since just before Nexus's era and now resides in Eclipse's dimension and helps Eclipse and the other animatronics that live in the Pizzaplex a tad different from Sun and Moon's now original and old dimension. Sun and Moon moved to another.

Eclipse and Ruin might be interested in each other but Ruin's love for his ex; Monty, makes things difficult since Monty still has the virus. Eclipse thinks Monty is long gone. Davis hasn't neither denied nor confirmed if Eclipse and Ruin will be a couple.

Lately; Ruin and Eclipse act like a married couple that take care of the dead kids. Eclipse is the kids father however. Ruin acts more like a caretaker.
