Wilhelm Bras (Paweł Kulczyński) experimental electronic musician, sound artist and producer based in Warsaw, also appears under the name Lautbild bringing along lighter moods. He introduces noisy avant garde and frantic harmonies into club situations and creates lively, polyrhytmic beats, using DIY machinery and colourful rough synths, susceptible to accidental, glitchy sounds. When performing live, he likes to experiment not only with the instrumentarium, but also with the whole sound system and the acoustic possibilities of the given space. In Wilhelm Bras’s music one of the most crucial aspects is its unpredictability. There’s a rhythm encouraging you to dance but also less controllable buzzing and grinding, the throbbing of a machine trying to spiral out of the artists control. He loves extreme sounds and is interested in the social and spatial context of music, the phenomenology of the audiosphere and acoustics, random phenomena, cheap conceptualism, laziness and boredom, false appearances and psychedelia. Wilhelm Bras performed at CTM in Berlin, Unsound in Cracow, New York and Bishkek, Off and Tauron Nowa Muzyka in Katowice, Prague, Budapest, Kiev, Bucharest and more. In September 2018 a vinyl release Wilhelm Bras “Living Truthfully Under Imaginary Circumstances “ inaugurated a new label run by the artist - ATTITUDES.
