Dissident Movement is an Audio/Video collective that aims at promoting and supporting the culture of Techno music.
The project was born from the necessity of sharing our love for music, cinema and art as the highest democratic expression of idea sharing.
We believe in an Art that promotes a social and moral awakening, it is our way to feel present, when all around seems drowsy from an alienating survival.
      
We are looking for genuine techno.
We favour  moody atmosphere with a metallic, industrial feel and melodic melancholic  appeal.
We enjoy raw and groovy sound as well.

Manchester’s Joe McBride pens elaborate, emotive & intellectual soundscapes, drawing in influences across a spectrum of bass culture and electronica. Having released with Exit Records, Brownswood, Styrax, Auxiliary & Med School, as well as remixes for Model 500, Snow Patrol, Lowb & a plethora more, Synkro has most recently found a home at R&S sister label ‘Apollo’.  Major support for Synkro’s music has come from names like Chris Coco, Giles Peterson, Mary Anne Hobbs, Prefuse 73 and dBridge. A truly staple artist in the timeline of UK Bass.

Persistence of vision 



Put your favorite song to play and close your eyes, feel, stay in tune with it, your brain will project images and emotions that reflect and define your mind, the retina of your eyes, confused now with the mixture of all the senses body, in the darkness, try to capture images that are designed quickly by your brain. Persistence of vision, to capture an image, the human eye takes a fraction of a second to forget it, so when you shoot your eye, he mixes the  previous images with the following images, causing the illusion of movement, music connects you right now, the illusion elevates you, you do not know longer distinguish reality from fantasy, you now find yourself in the perfect state of persistence of vision.

Max Cooper is an electronic composer, multi-disciplinary artist, music label founder and former scientist who has carved out a unique space in music and visual art.

He holds a PhD in computational biology at the same time as being the first contemporary electronic musician to perform at the ancient Acropolis theatre in Athens and one of the first clutch of musicians to produce in Dolby Atmos.

Cooper has enquired for over 15 years through music, collaborations, and his label Mesh, to explore the intersections between the arts and sciences with installations, performances, immersive experiences, online media, music videos and live events.  Anchored throughout is his emotive approach, connecting how ideas and forms feel, in a manner accessible to us all. 
 
As an artist synonymous with the evolution of club culture, Cooper honed his craft as a DJ with a 10 year residency at legendary Midlands techno event Firefly where he formed a foundational relationship with Architecture Social Club, with whom he still collaborates on extravagant immersive installations.

"I want to encourage the acceptance of electronic music as an art form like any other. Bringing electronic music and abstract audio-visual projects into concert halls, museums and galleries is liberating - the art world opens up doors to communicate in ways that aren’t possible elsewhere."
  
Pivoting from computational biology to electronic music might not seem like the most natural career transition, but for Cooper the commonalities are obvious:
 
"In both fields, you're in a sense, free. Free from the limits of living systems, free from the limits of corporeal sound. The only constraints are in your mind."
