I had tears in my eyes  when half of the camp showed up for that special final burn experience. WHOMP WAGON you are legend. Thanks for your trust, your amazing hospitality (you know I love champagne) . It was incredible being part of that night and creating the mood. I managed to record 1h of may set. Burning Man '24-MUKKIMIAU @ Whomp Wagon - SAT-SUN Night - 31.8.24

Everyone who’s been to a burn probably knows how emotional, mind-blowing, and deeply fulfilling that week can be. My Sunday sunrise set at Maxa was without a doubt one of the most special and emotional sets of my life – just like the entire week at Burning Man. What an intense and beautiful journey, culminating in that final sunrise I got to play on the deer.

Huge thanks to Maxa for having me and for creating one of the most stunning art cars out there! I loved every second of that set and felt truly honored to curate the soundtrack to that last sunrise out on the playa.

It’s moments like these that fuel my fire and remind me why I keep doing what I do. ❤️‍🔥

Fabian Krooss - Maxa - Burning Man 2024

As I biked into deep playa looking for the majestic glowing Maxa deer on Friday night, I kept thinking about how I found out that the reason the deer art car is a deer, is because the legend of how the Mexican tribes found peyote goes that a blue glowing deer appeared and showed them the way to the plant. 

This, of course, as it was told to me when I paid a visit to the Maxa camp a year before the 2024 Burn, after biblical rains paralyzed Black Rock City and decimated my dreams of playing on the Maxa deer… at Sunrise. 

Good things are worth the wait and as I took control of the glowing myth and spirit of the magical deer, I was surrounded by the most amazing crowd in the front, around and behind me. 

This is the musical story of that night, my last and highly proud set of Burning Man 2024. Enjoy!

¨A last set in a first time Burn, closing a full circle in the Mayan and Maxa link up, playing between a Sandstorm and the ashes of the Temple, where not only me, but many of us left tears, hugs and memories on its walls to be taken by the fire. 

Sharing this moment with @madmotormiquel, a musician and person that I am so lucky to call a friend, with whom I feel the trust to musically go anywhere, and some of our closest and dearest friends as a last dance was beyond special. 

Mayan family, thank you for your trust in us to guide a musical journey in this delicate and emotional moment, and for the best closure we could wish for.¨

MUKKIMIAU aka Maria has had a deep relationship with music starting from a very early age. Even as a five-year-old, she would record mixtapes from the radio for her friends, who were compelled to listen attentively until the very end. Flash forward, MUKKIMIAU is now well connected in the Berlin underground scene where she has already played in clubs like Ritter Butzke, The Yard and Fiese Remise and Kater Blau. MUKKIMIAU is most notable for her after-hour sessions where she passionately spins enthusiastic, wild and melodic sounds from the afro and deep house world - all garnished with a handful of confetti. 
Since 2019 she is an essential part of the crew and recordlabel "OBSOLET".
2021 her first Track "The Burma Job" was released in collaboration with DJ, Producer and Singer Max Joni.
