This page is dedicated to Singer-songwriter Tom Hoover. This is his second solo album. I had the pleasure of engineering this album with Bob Rubin at Whitneyville Studios. Tom Hoover plays all instruments on this album.

I found the following Bio online: 

Tom Hoover sings and plays guitar, mandolin and upright bass. He has two solo recordings, "Out of the Midden" from 1999 and "Old Shoes", 2004.

He grew up in Wellsboro, PA and performed with a regionally popular folk group throughout high school. He became interested in bluegrass music after a stint in the Army, when a long time friend introduced him to the genre. Together with two others they formed Cold Spring, the area's only bluegrass band. That was in 1978, and Tom has never stopped playing bluegrass since. He co-founded North Fork Alliance in 1980, and three of the original members are still together after 25 years: Tom on guitar, Rick on banjo and Bob on mandolin, as the band North Fork. He played mandolin and guitar with Burnt Toast, a newgrass group, from 1992-1996.

As well as playing solo venues at every chance, Tom currently plays guitar with North Fork, and mandolin with an old time fiddle band, the Cherry Flats Ridgepluckers.

He has written many songs, including the ever popular "Cedar Run", "Dying Dreams" and "Old Dan Shipe".

Tom strives to seek out and revive old songs by obscure artists, or traditional tunes that may otherwise be forgotten. He has been an inspiring influence to many younger musicians, encouraging them all along the way.
