As each artist has his own roots in a past experience, the presence of music in his family and the life in Mannheim has influenced Tim Etzel to pursue his path into becoming an electronic music DJ and producer. Starting with piano and keyboards lessons at his early age, and an affair with Broken Beats, until joining the BE9 family, Tim is pushing boundaries blending house sonorities with minimal techno vibes. Here, the DCS4 member gave us for free his unreleased rolling number "One Last Dane" as part of our GIFT TRACK series.

Following a string of differently brilliant EP projects, iO are finally releasing their debut album. The outlet for the album release is, a very well known to iO fans, label Mulen. Without any exaggeration Barefooter can be called a longplayer - album, as it consists of 14 tracks, 10 of which will be available in digital format and 4 only on vinyl.

It is difficult to judge whether the release will meet the audience expectations, at least because this kind of iO no-one has heard, yet. Whilst for many producers releasing a debut album is like summarising their sound by repackaging old tracks under a new cover, Barefooter - is an independent work, it is more like the beginning of a fresh chapter, rather than a retrospective of the past.

Leaving behind trendy peak-time sound, iO delves deep into the depths of house music and takes to it like duck to water. Firstly, jazz riffs and abundance of syncopation, draw attention to themselves and make the sound more "mature" and original. Samples, without which it is difficult to imagine iO are softer and deeper, rhythms are slowler. Thanks to the creative production techniques, percussion grooves organically develop into melodies, this will most certainly please real music lovers.

The album really deserves to be heard in full, there is practically no bulging "hits" or "filler" tracks. Barefooter - is a real story with it’s prelude, climax and epilogue. This release will be accompanied by an additional bonus remix EP from Mulen artists. Westboy, Tish & Federico Molinari, Deep Square, Kirik are all presenting their visions of IO tracks, mostly providing them with a solid dancefloor groove. This thought-through combination of efforts by talented musicians once again demonstrates the unique potential of Mulen label.

Landing On A Planet marks @2040music's newest output to see the light of day via Amselcom. Two originals characterized by a distinct atmosphere of dreamy gloominess invite you into an unknown and wide open sound world. @vicnorman and @alexanderchristianmusic round out the EP and turn it into a unified experience of mesmerizing techno that is the perfect soundtrack for landing your space shuttle on an obscure and uncharted planet.

MSLW002 comes from the likes of Cabri, Dhaze, Niko Maxen and Stevn.aint.leavn. Opening the EP is 'Sunn' by Fun Records label-head Alexis Cabrera under his Cabri moniker, who provides a real minimalist symphony with a stunning bassline, trippy modular glitches and a solid drum beat.

One Records line up part two to celebrate 10 years. Label head Subb-an and Mathew Jonson collaborate on a deep cut with uplifting pads, tight drums and a classic Jonson baseline. Yamen & EDA drop in a 90s inspired dance floor groove layered with trippy spacey top-liners. On the B-side newcomers to the imprint Thoma Bulwer and Anna Wall serve up a hypnotic low end groove, thrashy claps and positive chords on the breaks letting the track breath to then drop back into solid groove. B2 welcomes back label regular Jack Wickham who delivers classic Wickham groove.
