The fall equinox is a special marker on the wheel of time, where upon the sun and moon dance in a similar spot in the sky, and the days and nights are of equal length ~ a time to give thanks for a rare moment of perfect balance, while also knowing we'll soon descend into darkness of winter ~ this mix I called 3/4's of the way in part because fall equinox is 3/4's of the way through the calendar year, though it's a bit silly to trap our minds in the conventional preconception that the year starts and ends at any one point or another ~ beyond that, this mix is in a sort of 3/4 tempo, not quite as fast as your typical tech-house, but not as slow of that sort of mid tempo folkloric electronic ~ something to listen to around the fire, hanging out, fall time, apple cider, have a little dance, friends, sweaters, a smoke perhaps, leaves falling, wind blowing, the change of the seasons, the dance of life... and death... all things change... this too shall pass

Working hard, developing the heart, focusing the mind. Think less, feel more. Notice how thoughts influence reality. The beautiful dance between spirit and matter. Intention becomes speech becomes action. Guard the doors of perception vigilantly. Mindfulness is manifestation.

Edging its way into the realm of techno. Something a bit more driving than the deep house I'm often drawn to. Always appreciating depth and beauty. Melodic and hypnotic, but rich and driven. Less emphasis on the off-beat high hats. Of course there's a range of tracks in here, some of them funky and weird, some of them psychedelic or dubby, some of them deep and minimal, and some of them are actually somewhat deep-house like. There's a couple tracks towards the end I'd definitely call tech-house. Right near the end there's a couple dub-techno tracks. And there's a totally different track there to finish it off. I just like nomenclature, playing with words, diversity, and depth, so I'm playfully trying to describe this sub-genre. I guess there's not tons of world music sounds in here, but just enough I thought it fair to call it "ethno techno". Mostly I just like that it kinda rhymes. Maybe if I could call it anything I wanted I'd call it "Deep and Downright Delicious Psychedelic Ethno Techno"

Similar to my typical deep house mixes, but even more dreamy, melodic and atmospheric. This sub-style definitely has a depth to it, but it's beautiful and light as well. The bass is deep and almost dub like at times. It bridges house and techno, like a chilled-out tech-house. Tempo is up there around 120 for most of the time, and yet it's something you might relax to. I've let the tracks play out longer than I normally do, sometimes allowing them to play for 6 or 7 minutes, and the mix is longer than usual too, almost 3 hrs long. Hope this mix helps to create the perfect atmosphere for the perfect moment, wherever that might be. Peace ! (Art by Dimitra Milan)

Dew Drop ~ Dreamy and Delicate, yet Dashing and Delectable Deep House ~ Extended Mix

A rich and deep sub-style of tech-house with lots of inspiration from cultures across the globe. These tunes have a bit more of a driving rhythm than the some of the softer atmospheric deep house I like to play. Almost something trance like or progressive about them, reminiscent of a train ride deep into the night in a foreign land, which is exactly where I dreamed up this mix. These tracks remind me of that deep mid-tempo folkloric electronic style that I'm fond of, but faster pace, around 122 bpm. Whatever it's called, it sure makes me move. WooooOOooooOOOOooot wooOoOooot !
