Touch of Class Records is proud to present “Once Upon A Time” an EP recorded by producer, vocalist, DJ, Navid Izadi. Hailing from San Francisco, Navid Izadi makes it an art to combine multiple influences in his music, his earlier experiences constantly resonating through his productions. Here he brings us a two-part track, with remixes by Tone of Arc and Kenneth Scott. Recorded in the Lower Haight district of San Francisco, this EP is the imprints fourth release, heralding the musical qualities that the label stays true to: a combination of sophisticated and eclectic rhythms executed with style and poise.

Part one of the original track is laid down with a moogy bass line and met with classic 808 style percussion textures mixed with provocative vocals and laughter about a night out-- taking us on a groovy ride through the colorful and transient streets of San Francisco. Part two evolves from a sexy and playful escapade to a stripped back, dreamy after-thought with the sounds of a xylophone in the background and Tone of Arc delivers a 303 bass line remix that electrifies. Kenneth Scott’s remix delivers an early 90s vibe taking it back similar to the classic sound of The Orb’s Little Fluffy Clouds Cumulonimbus Mix by Pal joey. The entire EP embodies a family affair with contributions by all San Francisco bred artists.

This last year was a big one for Izadi with releases on Wolf & Lamb & Soul Clap Records, but his creative output doesn’t stop there. Besides performing live, Dj’ing and producing quality tracks, Navid Izadi has done vocals featured on tracks alongside Deniz Kurtel, Soul Clap, Signal Flow, and close friends PillowTalk.

"El Fadaa" is the fourth release from Romanian outfit Khidja this year, after EPs released on Love On The Rocks, [Emotional] Especial and Bahnsteig 23. This time it's through the young label Malka Tuti from Tel Aviv, from which we already featured a premiere a few weeks ago, the Willie Burns remix of "Botanical Garden" by Yovav. A2 "Drums Of Taksim" is a psychedelic downtempo trip with a huge build up featuring a spoken poem by Alan Berliner, live instruments mixed with electronics and some arabic singing, clocking in at 12 minutes. Remix courtesy of Baris K and Mehmet Aslan appears on the flip side too. Strong release, not to be missed! Nicola Cruz - Tzantza (Simple Symmetry 'Folklorica' Remix)*VINYL EXCLUSIVE*

Italian duo Hugo Sanchez and Edoardo Cianfanelli have been coming together to throw down all manner of discoid greatness for the likes of Slow Motion Records, and now they're on Malka Tuti with what has the potential to be a massive hit for them. Igino's vocal on the A-side track is undeniably catchy, and it sounds great both in the context of the original and simmering over Severino and Ray Mang's slow-burning gem of a remix. "Bella L'Estate" meanwhile sees the duo head into spooky, cinematic territory to great effect, marking out the kind of off-kilter disco jam to turn heads. Tel Aviv's hippie jewel Naduve completes the release with a druggy and intense take on "Bella L'Estate".

Joe Morris, Nick Smith and Iain Mac are Clandestino, a successful trio of party throwers based out of Leeds. They've been around the block a few times and have been involved in their local underground scene for almost two decades. This longstanding venture has garnered them some international attention and even resulted in quite a few international gigs as Clandestino. Their tastes are an amalgam of exotically influenced sounds from around the globe, easily heard on their extremely popular monthly show on KMAH Radio. As is often the case, they've also naturally developed into a record label, curating their own brand of idiosyncratic dance music.

Clandestino's fifth release comes from José Manuel, the Berlin-based Italian known for his percussion-heavy sound and tribal leanings. The "Human Behaviour" EP comes with two originals and two remixes, as well as a digital-only bonus track. The title track is a 9 minute journey that's slower in tempo with atmospheric keys and flutes playing over top of a jagged bassline. Clandestino remix Human Behaviour to turn it into a more uptempo, afro-leaning cut, injecting it with some tropical keys and a bit of an acid-y 303 bass.

Our premiere today is entitled Bangalore. Starting off with an immediate ear-catching, eastern guitar and bass combo, we know we're in for a ride. Trippy vocal chants come in as the drums and afro-latin percussion continue to work up to a full fledged groove. This percussive tune never loses its direction as different elements are introduced and taken out in the arrangement but the combination between the percussion, guitar and especially the quirky vocals turn it into a late night jam.

The final tracks on the EP are the Mushrooms Project remix of Bangalore, which turns it into more of a deep sundown, seaside extravaganza, and the digital bonus, Aisha, a tripped out cut full of djembes, Middle-Eastern and Indian instrumentation. MULTI CULTI 038 - NICOLA CRUZ - INVERSIONS

Multi Culti brings the spirit of the mountains into the club with the latest release from Ecuadorian folklorica cryptid Nicola Cruz. Featuring colossal remixes by Bawrut, CAIN, and Matanza.

The EP’s title track is a deeply spiritual chugger that realigns your joints, organs and central nervous system so as to reorient you for the bold reimaginings of the past Cruz triumphs to follow. “Espíritu de Protección” takes on two new earthly forms, one a breaks mix by Cruz himself that can, in good conscience, be described as “banging,” and the other a remix from Madrid-based Italian producer Bawrut that shows why he’s been touted by such eminently droppable names as Jackmaster and Erol Alkan. 

Meanwhile, former pro bagpiper CAIN turns in a remix of “Mantis,” transporting the original from the highlands of Quito to the highlands of Scotland and adding more of whatever fills your brain when oxygen won’t. The probably deliberate mountain connection continues as Chilean birdsong interpreters Mantanza provide a trippy rework of their fellow Andean’s “Tzantza.” 

This particular selection is intended to invoke the experience of encountering a shaman-type loitering outside the club with a grab bag of herbs and ointments to ease the lifelong process of learning to grind up on your highest self, who even now through time and space is sending you the wisdom you need to grab ahold of that bag and never let go.

Nicola Cruz - Espiritu De Proteccion (Bawrut Remix)

'Pixels' is the fourth and last single from 'México 70', Bufi’s third studio album. This is an uptempo jam with bleepy Moog stabs with a spacey aura, reinforced by some choir-like vocals that surround your ears like a surfing cloud on top of a continuous funk beat that goes from the beginning till the end without stop. 

Joining the adventure is “La Cumbia De Las Frecuencias”, a psyched-out tropical chuggy shaker that will make a perfect treat for those amazonic sound lovers. 

The artwork is a collaboration with Braulio Amado, the Portuguese artist currently based in NYC.
